So all of those UGA fans and UGA corporate sponsors who pay for space in Jacksonville will now want to magically go see LSU v UF? By God, you might be onto something.

Some alternative vendors could be considered... Pat O's, Abita Brewery, etc.

UGA fans get game in Athens and can decide to attend Jax game or get refund.

SURE... This won't happen. But something must change and someone will lose.

Again, what's YOUR solution?

What I'm saying is that they have had the cocktail party in Jacksonville between those two teams for decades, such that any suggestion that LSU will be substituted in for UGA is going to be expensive as frick. All of those Georgia corporate sponsors who have been sponsoring the different venues/parties/events for that many years are not going to give that up without getting a gigantic premium.

Push the SEC championship game back a week, play LSU vs FL at the venue in Atlanta. Playoff committee determines final rankings the weekend after conf championship weekend anyway.

They don't have a choice. They played THEIR card and lost. Looks bad on the new Commish and LSU has already said yes. If UGA agrees it's done baw. Trust me. I said Les was gone and everyone doubted me, so let's see on this one.

-----------
Vote this 2nd to FL forfeiture. My only issue here is loss of our open date and murderers row in SEC.

All this madness?

UGA's open date moves from 10/22 to 10/29. Oh the horror...

Every possible solution has been talked about beyond belief all these threads about solutions need to stop.

Why? Just curious how it is that you are the arbiter of what may and may not be discussed about this game.

Yes, I understand the significance of the WLOCP Game. It's UGA-UF's version of the Iron Bowl. It's almost sacred, and certainly some UGA/UF fans likely build their social calendar around attending that game, likely even seen as a rite of passgage for some.

I HIGHLY DOUBT this option would even be considered. However, is the corporate sponsorship losses on par with combined LSU & Greater-BR area businesses economic losses???

I'm just offering a simpler solution than some already floated, however unlikely it may be.

In case you didn't notice, we just had a "bonus" open date. No matter how frustrating it has been.
