Why would they change it if it isn't gonna hit until tuesday?

Give people time to prepare and evacuate and not sit in hours-long traffic to do so. Allow emergency personnel to be focused on the hurricane rather than the football game. Prevent unnecessary travel into a bad situation, making it worse for all involved.

Just a guess.

There should be a vacant stadium around Dallas this weekend.

we really should move it to Boone. I think that would be an awesome atmosphere.

I think you've been hitting the Boone's Farm.

I think they are jumping the gun big time if they cancel this game. They have no idea what this damn thing is gonna do.

Evacuation precautions.

That is now officially a cop out for the histeria about the storm.

Contraflow is only supposed to be imposed 40 hours before landfall per the LA evacuation plan.

If it does come, and that is a big if, it would be more than 48 hours after the end of the game.

Exactly. Contraflow would not start until Nagin orders a voluntary evac right? Which is 30 hours out right?

So let's see, Sometime late Sunday night contraflow will start and we're considering cancelling or moving the game up? People will have at least 24 hours to get back south and pack their cars and get out of dodge.

Plus, WE DON"T EVEN KNOW IF IT IS COMING HERE!!! The damn cone is still almost 600 miles wide.

Independence Stadium is way to small there is no way you can fit everyone in there.

August 27, 2008; 11:00 a.m. No storm impact anitcipated for LSU football Game at this time

This was less than a day ago. How much has changed since then? Surely they didn't go from "No Impact" to "Game Cancelled" in less than 24 hours...

Exactly, Zealot. There would be more angered than appeased LSU fans. I thought about the scenario three years ago and it wasn't doable then. People want a clusterfrick? Moving the game to Independence Stadium on short notice in the middle of a hood would certainly do that.

I don't think the game is cancelled... can someone say where they heard that LSU was even making an announcement at 4?

They may move the game up to 11 IMO. I really don't think that would be such a bad idea.

So stupid if the move or postpone the game. People are acting like Hurricanes were just invented a few years ago.

Do they refund ticket money if they move or postpone the game?

It would be foolish to cancel this game.
