what is circulating around 247 is that they are going to offer soon, it could be a day or two after that before we know if the guy will take it.

It's kind of sad coaches are using LSU job offers/considerations as leverage for a raise at their current school.

I wouldn't really call it sad per se. It shows that schools know we are willing to pay coaches top dollar and that it's a valuable destination job that would require schools to counter offer, and coaches take notice of that as well. What may be sad is that we seem to go after coaches that are only looking for a raise. However, on the other hand, you're not going to lure anyone away from any school unless you ask.

Kirby would be a very good hire.

Head Coach in waiting kind of thing too.

Am I in the minority of not wanting that Gump anywhere near our defense?

Guessing so, yeah.

Smart's a Georgia grad, and a very cool guy, FWIW. He ain't all Gump.

My close friend, who works for Alabama Football, said that Kirby got into a fist fight with another defensive coach during one of the bowl practices. Maybe he needs a fresh start?

Please explain. I can only imagine the internal struggle going on in your head. After I quick look through your post history, it is very clear that you are unhealthily obsessed with Alabama and that you hate Les Miles with everything you have. If smart is hired this would be a very confusing time for fans like you. Will y'all stick with the "Les is always wrong" schtick or accept the dark prince. Will be very interesting.

This is Kirby's agent attempt at getting him more money. He isn't going to come to LSU just like Miles wasn't going to go to Arky when they came calling.

Yeah, and Chavis was trying to get more money too, right?

I'm agnostic on this potential hire.
However, a prior poster may have identified a good reason why he may have interest in a move:
Kiffin.
