After watching this replay there's no doubt that Harris is so much better than Jennings. The offense is better with him in and he can simply pass so much better. Jennings just doesn't know how to be a successful quarterback. LSU would have won with Harris starting

I highly doubt it. Harris had the benefit of playing against Mississippi State's backups. Harris wasn't any better than Jennings in 2014. 2015 is a completely different story in the QB race. Both will improve, it just depends on who improves the most.

eta: Tf am I getting downvoted for? Harris wasn't ready to start. We saw that in the Auburn game. If Harris was any better than Jennings, Miles would have played him. Only a Miles hater/idiot would think otherwise.

The defense got gashed the entire night.

The New Mexico State game has me even more convinced. Jennings was terrible and Harris moved the offense with no problem. The Auburn game was unfair to Harris as the defense put him in a huge hole that put a lot of pressure on him. No QB in the country could win a game at Auburn with his D giving up 34 points in the first half.

I just watched the replay too. I forgot how good Dak Prescott looked and how bad Jennings was in this game. If we see a true competition this year between Jennings and Harris, Harris might prevail. I hope Jennings get out of his legal trouble and returns, with Harris winning the job and winning about 10 games. Geaux Tigers.

Jennings supporters refuse to acknowledge the NMST game. How can any sec caliber QB play like that against NMST? Harris wiped the floor with him at game. Yes he sucked against auburn... But so did Jennings. At least Harris led a scoring drive

Under Chavis, our defense had a rough time against dual threat QBs.

Take away Harris' bomb to Dupre and he isn't any better than Jennings. Anthony was put into the Auburn game once all was lost.

For the NMST game, it was obvious that Anthony was pressing VERY hard trying to make plays instead of taking what the defense gave him. He was booed multiple times in the game and the student section was calling for Harris to enter the game. It was a disgusting showing by the fans in the stadium. Harris performed well while his confidence was still high and the offense beat a horrible NMST team.

Dude I don't care how hard he was pressing. The LSU QB(whoever it is) should never look like shite against NMSU. That's just fricking embarrassing.

We almost lost to Troy in 2008 dude. Every team has their bad moments. Not every player can be perfect every game.

I think jarrett lee and about 75% of the fan base might disagree with that.

Troy won the Sun Belt and went to a Bowl game in 2008.

NMSU went 2-10 and got beat by ULL by 30.

And for all the bullshite Lee gets for that game, he didn't let Troy score at will in the first half.
He actually completed over 50% of his passes for over 200 yards in the game.

And I don't think its out of line to have some fricking absolutes.
1. Our starting QB shouldn't look like shite against the worst fricking team in the Sun Belt.
2. Guys who can't start for the Harvard JV as a freshman shouldn't be starting at LSU as a sophomore. frickING EVER.

just to get you started on a list.

Benardrick McKinney was still in the game on at least the first drive downfield against Miss St. led by Brandon Harris. So this is not true. Also, they stated in the early part of the game Miss St. was working a two-deep rotation throughout the game because of LSU's physical style.

Haha it truly blows my mind that people like rmnldr can still defend Jennings after last season. Then it makes me wonder about their sanity when they STILL defend him after this summer. It's like "hey let's go with Jennings and go 7-6/8-5 instead of Harris and 10-2/11-1." Maddening

Because McKinney is known as a great coverage guy.

And the other guy missed my whole point completely. It doesn't matter what New Mexico State did or what Troy did. Every player has FUBAR moments and it shouldn't make or break their body of work. If you watched the first half of Ole Miss v. LSU in 2013 you'd think Mettenberger was a horrible QB.

Really? You think this team would've been better in 2014 with Harris starting? I'm not defending Jennings' play in 2014. I've never defended his subpar play at QB and I've never supported such play. If you're that dense to think that everyone who doesn't bow down to Harris and call for him to start thinks Jennings should start and wants a horrible season, you can promptly go frick yourself.

I'm sick of hearing about how great Harris is when he not only couldn't beat out Jennings but he sucked in his sole start. It's 2015, it's a different year, and I've already made my stance on where I think the QB situation should be headed with Harris getting 80%+ of all reps in fall practice. Jennings is a great leader and when he isn't making full retard decisions he is an asset to this team. It's unfair to Jennings and it's unfair to Harris to make such idiotic claims.

Isn't this the same thing that happened to Harris in the Miss St. game except he actually did something with his off-the-bench opportunties?

Btw, Auburn at the time that game was played was the #5 ranked team in the country. I would imagine that while that didn't matter to the average fan, it's all, true freshman, Brandon Harris could think about leading up to the game.

Against Miss St., Harris threw to Trey Quinn, Darrell Williams, John Diarse, and Malachi Dupre in his first drive. (Spreading the ball around)

How is Jennings better? I have no idea. I'm not on the team. I can tell you, however, that Anthony Jennings won the starting QB job in fall practice in 2014 and played his arse off as a Fighting Tiger for LSU.
