LSU has a soccer team?

We all know LSU went woke a few years ago. Very disappointing to know the coaches are kneeling with the players like this.

And now this thread gets anchored. The admins are becoming as bad as the anthem kneelers.

Just another in a long line of reason voters in this state should be telling their legislators to tell LSU to go to hell when budget time rolls around and they come begging hat in hand.

While I agree with most of this, why are you putting limitations on freedom of expression?
So they can express themselves but nobody else can? Sounds downright authoritarian (communist, fascist etc.).
On another note, did you serve in the US military?

He's conflating the right to do something with approving of the behavior.
99.00% believe in the right. That's very different than supporting the behavior. The guy you are responding to is trying to conflate the two things because he can't defend the behavior.

Why don’t you go to a USA Mexico match in Columbus or Boston or Portland/Seattle and tell me that’s not one of the most patriotic sporting events you’ve ever been to.

I was there. Very disappointing

How many blacks were killed by police last year versus how many blacks were killed in black on black crime? I’ll hang up and listen.
Edit: the admins have anchored this thread. So much for free and open debate on the Rant.

Woodward is a Democrat. He would only have a problem with this if it was something like O supporting Trump. This kneeling will be allowed to continue.

But there's an appropriate time and place to make social or political protests, and doing so while wearing the uniform of your university's team or their employer is NOT the time or place.
If these folks want to protest, go for it, but on your own time. Not on LSU's time, and certainly not while wearing our jersey. When they suit up, they represent the university, and a political protest is completely inappropriate.
And I seriously doubt any of them could accurately provide any statistics on police brutality, or whatever other issue they think they're protesting. To be honest, I'm not sure they even know what it is they're protesting.

quote:more unarmed whites are killed by police than unarmed blacks. That's a statistical fact.
How many blacks were killed by police last year versus how many blacks were killed in black on black crime?
And "unarmed" doesn't necessarily mean innocent or not dangerous. Many unarmed folks may be committing a crime and acting very aggressive and dangerous, and police don't know they're unarmed until afterwards.
And the total number of unarmed whites and blacks killed by police each year is tiny - two or three dozen - in a country of 330 million with probably 10s of millions of police interactions.
But let's not let facts get in the way of a good ole protest narrative.

I was curious about going to an LSU Soccer game, but not now. I don't dig woke libtard foolishness. And as a vet, I can tell you that this kneeling stuff absolutely enrages me. They are winning no sympathy from me for themselves or their misguided "cause".
