Ok but in THIS SEASON don't u think lsu was the far more talented team against auburn, ole miss, and Arkansas? My point is that I always hear the oh we always play them close excuse. But I don't understand why that's an excuse. We always beat miss st. But one day they will win against us..this particular year these games shouldn't have been close cause these are bad teams this year and it doesn't matter that they are sec. They are simply not good and have been regularly blown out all year.

Last year we had a team that won big and people still bithed..

Is anyone here ever happy?

Enjoy the wins Nancy..

Coach Miles is great in some areas, but, only average in other areas. He is NOT a great coach in all areas. I'm tired of arguing with people about this on LSU message boards. I do expect LSU fans to defend Miles, and, I have no problem with that. It's obvious to me that Miles is average in some areas of coaching, and, he is great in other areas. I like to check non-LSU message boards from time to time, and, it's mostly LSU fans who think that Coach Miles is a great football coach in all areas. He's not a highly thought-of Gridiron Guru nation-wide. Pretty much only LSU fans think so. But, really, it's futile to try to discuss the merits and demerits of Coach Miles on an LSU message board. An unbiased and thoughtful conversation cannot happen in such a forum.

Hey if you want to have an unbiased and thoughtful conversation on CLM knock yourself out, I can provide you all you want. But at the end of the day you are going to have it explained to you what you don't understand about what does and doesn't make a great football coach...so approach with caution.

Tell you what, you take any team in the top ten, and I'll take LSU, on a neutral field, who do you want to bet your house will beat LSU?

lsu was far superior to all 3

you're a fricking idiot if you believe this. this squad has been fricked from the git with inexpeience at qb, receiver and the defensive backfield...then factor in the boucoup injuries, suspensions and kids just up and quitting. if anything, this staff has done one hell of a job having to reinvent this team numerous times and getting the results that we have in a conference as competitive as the SEC. when are you clowns going to understand what a "season maker" LSU has become. we are an elite national power every fricking year and we get everybody's best shot. no excuses....just the facts.

Ok dumb frick when did I say I wouldn't take lsu in a one game setting over anyone. Lsu absolutely can beat anyone in the country and usually plays best when the lights are brightest save 1/9. But over the course of the season they often play down to the competition which eventually results in losses that cost the team shots at championships.

I'll ask the question yet again that no one answers. Do u think sabans teams were as talented as miles? They weren't. Ppl think that because he laid the foundation but miles ran with it recruiting wise as he is a great recruiter. In game coaching is another story.

Exactly. They all just want to compare decades and say how much 10 wins shouldn't be taken for granted...well no fricking shite lsu football now is better off. Which is why expectations are and should be higher.

How do you figure that LSU playing everybody excuse or playing down to the competition is an excuse? That phraseology doesn't make a lot of sense.

Because all I've heard on the board the last two weeks is ole miss always plays lsu close. And today its lsu and Arkansas always play each other close. Point is that's a stupid excuse to use as to why the game was close. So even though lsu has the far superior team the game should automatically be close cause it traditionally is? No. These teams have been beaten soundly all year yet lsu struggles with them while having the much better team.

Have you given any thought to the possibility that Ole Miss and Arky played above their heads because it is LSU?

Avg recruiting class rank under Saban: 9.8
Avg recruiting class rank under Miles: 9.5

Both of those rankings are skewed by low first year classes #27 for Saban, #22 for Miles. If you take out the first years for each coach then you get:

Saban: 5.5
Miles: 7.7

So this fatal flaw you say CLM's team has, when did that happen in the last 3 years?
