My best memory of LSU basketball was when Christian Laettner and Duke came down to match up with Shaq and company. I was working the concessions for my high school track team but snuck away right before tip to watch the game. LSU got the tip and Shaq brought it home. The crowd was electric. Laettner hit a couple three pointers late though to seal the victory for Duke.

I think we got out there at about 8am Saturday and were almost to the bottom of the ramp...

I'm talking about before the change to the sections.
Yup. The TAF was trying to take student section seats away for years, at least as far back as the late '80s. But they never could pry the students out of the prime seats they wanted to take away and sell for big bucks to paying public. Then Dale's teams started sucking arse and then the NCAA investigation hit the fan and then Brady had his up and down (at best) tenure, and then the students stopped showing up. And, so, the TAF got the seats taken away that they wanted and the student section was rearranged.

And now I really don't see the students ever getting those seats back. At least not without some MAJOR attention getting actions (at the very least including massive attendance on a consistent basis).

Never missed a home game between 82-87. It used to be loud. Kentucky did not like coming here at all. The only a-hole who liked coming was Dick Vitale when he would stomp on LSU pennant logo and "pet" the Kentucky logo. Hats off to Dale Brown

they moved it even farther from the court with the exception of the 150 students they cramp into the tiny section at the bottom.

This current set-up is goofy, beyond belief.

Why they don't just reinstall the old contiguous section of sideline stands that goes from the floor, to the top of the assembly center, is beyond me.

Remember Mike the Tiger coming down from out of the scoreboard over midcourt for the UK game ?

It wasn't out of the scoreboard, it was out of a hole in the ceiling.
