The student section is in a terrible place. Its too far off the court. They need to move the media section to the other side, behind the players benches. That way the student section could be right next to the court, and much more effective in getting in the oppossing teams heads.

I remember they use to have those noise meters hanging from the rafters that circle the court. I use to go to most of the games in the 90's during Daddy Dales formitable years, and the PMAC was truly the loudest place i had ever been to.

Thats how it is located at most major college arenas. Instead of getting closer we keep getting pushed back.

the loudest sporting even i have ever been to was in the PMAC....not tiger stadium. LSU-UNLV back when it was Shaq/CJ/etc vs. LJ/Augmon/etc was insanely loud. UNLV's smoking hot dancers couldn't even dance their routine b/c they crowd was yelling at them so loudly.....and that was just during timeouts. It was nuts, the entire time.

I do agree that they need to put the student section on top of the court. Just put them behind the goal all the way up. That's what they do at Kansas and North Carolina. Why not do the same thing at LSU?

The loudest game i ever attended in the deaf dome is the 2000 Arizona game. When Jabari faked behind the back pass and threw down a monster dunk at the buzzer before halftime my ears started ringing it was so loud.

Here's to the students showing up tonight

I hope LSU doesnt pull any of the BS and make the students pre register for attending games on line for the xavier game. That will really cut back on the student crowd.

I am really thinking about not registering then showing up and causing a raucous if they tell me i can't get in. This is the most ridiculous idea. I believe you should turn ppl away if it's full not because you didnt register.

In the days of Rudy Macklin, Dwayne Scales, Gregg Cook, Ethan Martin, Al Greene, Willie Simms, Hi C Carter etc. students lined up the night before games especially against Kentucky etc. It was always a packed house and loud.

But when you go as long as this team has with the exception of the one year a couple of years ago and you hire embarrasing coaches like John Brady, people lose interest and I'm not condeming today's Tiger Basketball fan. We had a lot to cheer about and knew we could win any game in BR or even on the road. I believe we have the right coach in place to bring this program back to make realistic runs in the tournament without having to be some over achieving aberation of a team. When that starts happening (and it may be starting now) fans will come back and threads like this won't be necessary.

I know y'all get sick of hearing from us 'old guys',but back in the early 80's ,SEC teams used to hate to come to the Assembly Center. It truly was the 'Deaf Dome'.

They only did that while students were on break and not showing up for the games. I would be SHOCKED if they do this at any point during the rest of the season.

“I remember, it was the Connecticut game, maybe my second or third game (at LSU),” Martin recalled of the UConn game on Jan. 6, 2007. “I was shocked how many people showed up, which was good. I remember seeing the T-shirts and the newspapers (used as props by students in pregame introductions). I enjoyed that a lot.”

I was there for that game. Camped out on the ramp of the PMAC the day before because GameDay was there. I remember Tack Minor hit a long 3 at the buzzer before halftime and the place went totally nuts. It was awesome
