I get it, but if Cam and Les OK'd Mawae I'd be cool with it.

Me too. But they clearly didn't OK it, so why is there even this debate anymore?

I think people were wayyyy to over reactionary to the lack of experience for Mawae. He would have been fine coaching
A lot of "LSU People" (Ex-players, Power Brokers, Alums) wanted Mawae, but Grimes is acceptable. Very good resume and bio'. SEC experience. Good recruiter. Will not "scare" potential recruits off like StudCurley did. Huge upgrade.

Condolences to all the Rantardgeeknockers that wanted a more Swag filled coach. Gotta have some coaches on the staff that can actually coach, not just recruit.

OK, that's one down and one or two more to go.

C'mon Les, now do something about the mass confusion and chaos that is the Defensive Secondary.

Dude is the worst poster on this site, which says a lot. Please don't humor him, or he may never leave.

Yall do realize we already had the highest paid OL coach in the country with Stud right?

He made over 2X as much as Grimes did at VT

Grimes = 235k

Stud = 500k

Grimes, or whomever we hire, will cost less than Stud but still get a nice raise
thank you. was coming here to point this out. Just the improvement in recruiting is worth the difference probably.

And I'm sure Cam and what he needs from a coach was a factor. Maybe Grimes has had experience in such a style of offense and that tipped the scales.

since Mawae consulted much of the 2013 season they had a good look at him. And I do remember him saying (tweet? interview? can't remember where) that he wasn't so sure about the CFB coaches lifestyle with his kids at the age they were.
