If not for those years I would not be the LSU basketball fan I am. The great 90’s for baseball had the same effect. Those were my growing up years.

Top 2 ever played at PMAC

Not even close in my opinion. Just because LMU played no defense and it led to a ton of points doesn’t make it top 2. Either of the NCAA tourney games in 86 (especially Memphis St .) were much better. The Arizona and UNLV games were better, several earlier Kentucky games were better, the game against Houston was better. Maybe it creeps in the back half of the top 10.

Sad Hank Gathers passed away he and Bo Kimble were an incredible duo, just ran into Shaq and Chris Jackson who were a little better that day. Also this daddy Dale had the bench depth, team was stacked.

I worked this game court side as a statistician for CBS. I think CBS was affiliated with the new ESPN at the time. It was absolutely crazy. It was hard to keep up with control in the trailers outside the Pmac. There were no computers court side at the time. The lady to my left was keeping play by play and her typewriter gave out with minutes left. Crazy night and game.
