They are now 2-1 in Omaha, having beaten #1 Florida and #5 Texas Tech. Not too shabby.

Not really bad at all. They were a better team than us. We replaced 8/9 starters and still hosted a Super.

They bring a lot of firepower to the batters box. It's gonna be really tough for them to beat TCU 2X though.

For our part we needed about two more clutch hits and two more plays in the field and we're there. Not bad for team as young as we were.

Game 1 is still bad.
Game 2 we had our chances just couldn't get the clutch hit.

There's no denying this is a great club though

some LSU fans are baseball snobs. because our program has had so much success we are supposed to be "better" than these schools few have even heard of.

just like stoney brook, coastal Carolina was one heck of a scrappy team. they put constant pressure on our pitchers and defense until a error or poor throw home allowed them to score. they manufactured runs.

plus there is something many in Louisiana do not know; THE CAROLINAS PRODUCE SOME DAMN GOOD BALL PLAYERS.

I always considered this a rebuilding year. Outside of the great streak at the end of the year, we were never very impressive. Hopefully some of that can carry over to next year.

Right. Before we got hot we were fairly average. I give them credit for overachieving personally. I don't feel embarrassed at all about losing to CCU.

With that said LSU really should have won game 2 and forced the rubber match.

Definitely. They were extremely average before they took off. Great season overall considering the circumstances.

It's expected. You have a team with Poche and Lange. You belong there. No excuses there.

What are you going to say next year when most of the offense comes back? That we had to replace 2/3 of our weekend starters so it's okay?

No it does not. C Carolina was a better team than LSU.... There is no surprise that they are doing so well.

All the teams left CCU, TCU, OSU, AZ had some head scratchers across the season. None were nat'l seeds. But they're all peaking at the right time. That's what's so key.

For example, CCU got swept by GaTech late April/early May.

the only people in the world that it doesn't "look bad" to are LSU fans

They used up their only two relievers last night. If their starter doesn't pitch a complete game, they're going home.

" they were extremely average before they took all."

Replacing eight starters will do that. This team was written off way too soon by some of the baseball "experts" roaming this forum.

You would think with all the success Paul has had at LSU fans would just sit back and enjoy this season's ride, but that's probably naïve thinking on my part.
