This has become a nice plug for you folks, too

"Miserable this", "Miserable that"

Not being excited doesn't mean being miserable. Jesus

I, for one, love seeing former tigers do well in the NFL.

It's annoying to see when our passing attempt percentage since 2008 is like 30-40%. Stuff happens. A few chips fall differently, and we have 1-2 more championships in the last 10 years. It still doesn't make up for unachievement.

I love seeing LSU players succeed in the NFL, but quality>quantity. Look at the Georgia Tech WR's in the NFL right now. Georgia Tech may only have 2 starting wide receivers in the NFL right now, but they are 2 of the top 3 or 4 in the league - Calvin Johnson and Demaryius Thomas.

I love watching and rooting for four & five year players in the NFL. On the other hand guys like Hill, Beckham, and Landry are a big reason why we're 4-4.

Wtf?
So you don't root for young players on the team then? And do you hate when we do well in recruiting? Would you rather us get players not as good just so they would stay for 4 years?

Oh and OBJ was a 1st rounder, Hill was the #2 RB taken, and Landry "dropped" to the end of the 2nd round. And if you haven't noticed, they are tearing up the NFL right now. Why the frick would they come back? They were obviously ready for the league and now are making $$$$ doing it.

Do you not realize that the goal for most of these kids is to get to the NFL? Sure they wanna win in college and all, but the big picture for them is the NFL and to make $$$. And the NFL comes out and does the whole "only evaluate a few players per team" deal and people thinks that will stop it. No it won't. Why? Because the rookie wage scale.

Trai Turner-3rd RD #92 overall. 4yrs $2.79m contract. $539,000 signing bonus and guaranteed money.

Lamin Barrow-5th RD #156 overall. 4yrs $2.41m contract. $191,160signing bonus and guaranteed money

Alfred Blue-6th RD #181 overall.4yrs $2.37m contract. $117,932signing bonus and guaranteed money.

Not a big difference over 4 years between a 3rd rounder and a 6th rounder. It's all about getting that 2nd contract in the NFL now and the way to do that is to get there as healthy as possible and learn / develop / go against the best and improve.

And are you seriously blaming guys that aren't on the team right now for the issues we had this season? Grow up and hold the guys that are actually on the team and playing accountable. Did a WR drop a pass because of OBJ or Juice? Did a RB miss a hole because of Hill? No. Why not hold the guys that are actually playing and coaching accountable? It's the coaches job to get them ready and it's the players job to be ready to perform. Hill, OBJ, Landry, etc all were ready and prepared when they got on the field and now they are reaping the benefits of that. Our issues aren't because of the guys on the team last year and to think so is just ignorant.

And growing pains was expected this season due to the number of high profile freshman we had coming in and playing a big role for us and for the most part they played better than most people expected and adjusted to SEC football extremely well. And most of those freshman would have played even if some former players returned to school. And If you thought we were ready to go on a championship run this year, then you just aren't too bright. Most people expected us to have an up and down season and we did. And majority of the reason why we struggled was because of QB play and Mett was a 5th year senior and we still struggled. It's not like Mett was a RS Soph that bolted and left us unprepared. We knew he had no eligibility left and we still struggled at QB play. So don't sit there and bitch about how losing Hill and OBJ and Jarvis fricked us this season when our biggest issue was at the QB play and we knew Mett would not be here.

And if Hill, OBJ and Jarvis returned their stock would have most likely dropped. We had the worst passing game in college football. OBJ and Jarvis would both have dropped. And we ran agaianst a stacked box at least 80% of the time because teams knew we couldn't pass worth shite so Hill wouldnt have looked as good and he would have dropped. But sure... Blame those guys for our issues this season because they went pro and are tearing it up. What a bunch of assholes. No need to hold the guys that are here playing and coaching accountable.

What?

Dwayne Bowe is the 4th highest paid WR in the NFL. Andrew Whitworth is the 7th highest paid OT in the NFL. Ricky Jean Francois is the 25th highest paid DE in the NFL. Kyle Williams is the 5th highest paid DT in the NFL. Tyson Jackson is the 14th highest paid DT. Glenn Dorsey is the 19th highest paid DT. KeKe Mingo is the 24th highest paid OLB in the NFL. Perry Riley is the 20th highest paid ILB in the NFL. Patrick Peterson is the HIGHEST paid CB in the NFL. Laron Landry is the 14th highest paid safety in the NFL. Donnie Jones is the 13th highest paid kicker in the NFL.

That's 11 guys from LSU being paid top 25 $$$ at their position. And that doesn't even include guys like OBJ, Hill, Landry, TM, Ridley, Joe Barksdale, Ego, Trai Turner, Minter, Bennie Logan, Brockers, etc that have down really really well early on in their careers.

But sure... we just have a lot of players in the NFL that are average players and lack quality.

oh, so ga. tech has a better program and better coaches than lsu and they recruit better players ....

btw the two receivers that you speak of came from a team that runs the ball twice as much as lsu .....

Good for them.

And all these bull shite excuses & justifications help LSU how?

We supposed to just sit back and keep basking in our Sunday NFL revelry while the night before the team struggles to play . 500 ball in the SEC and not get a bowl bid to Shreveport?

I'm an LSU fan, I don give a turd about the Bengals, the Giants or the Dolphins...

Yeah well go on pretending we haven't gotten worse and worse each season the last three years. Enough talent to field an NFL expansion team and not even a trip to the SEC to show for it.

Now we have a fan base that's content to be happier on Sunday afternoons than Saturday nights.
