Serious question, does the committee value where the teams are now? I mean everyone would agree we are the best team of the choices and when we played AU we were still under Miles.

One of the things that hurts LSU is being local. The bowl games are sponsored in major part by the hotel/motel/restaurant groups. While LSU could fill the stadium they wont necessarily fill downtown NOLA hotels and restaurents all weekend. They prefer to sell the three day weekend packages as much as possible. LSU will bring a lot of daytrippers. As long as there is a good travelling opponent that is not too big an issue.

Not true. Many people get hotels. It will be a real late drive after the sugar bowl because it's a night game

I'd rather us go to the Citrus bowl, for selfish reasons.

Would be nice, but we threw away the Sugar Bowl when we gave Florida that bullshite, undeserved win.

The choices will be:

Florida: 8-4 with head to head loss to Tennessee and head to head win over LSU, SEC East champion
Tennessee: 8-4 with head to head loss to Texas A&M and head to head win over Florida
Auburn: 8-4 with head to head loss to Texas A&M and head to head win over LSU
Texas A&M: 8-4 with head to loss to LSU and head to head wins over Tennessee and Auburn
LSU: 7-4 with head to head losses to Florida and Auburn and head to head win over Texas A&M

We would be a strange pick among those choices

so, if Penn State wins B1G title, Penn State gets in over The OSU since they won the head to head meeting?

After all , the committee values head to head meetings more, according to you.

Well if Fournette would've blocked for Etling instead of letting him get destroyed on the goal line or if LSU could push for 3 damn inches in two plays we'd be in the sugar bowl. As it stands now Auburn will be ranked higher and go.

Good defensive play threw Fourntette off balance. He was the intended target and when he stumbled Etling had to get what he could. The hit on Etling was clean right at the sideline. Somehow that would have been penalized if it was on Jalen Hurts, either for targeting or for not anticipating he would go out of bounds short of the goal line.

Head to head was when Miles was coach.

Next polls mean nothing. It s will be up to the select CFP committee to slot the teams in the order they believe the teams are currently playing as much as what may have occurred two months ago. They are not making decisions in the vacuum of head to head for one game. Subjectively LSU has clearly played better than the other teams over the past month even in the two defeats. The committee will be conducting a more nuanced evaluation than the weekly pollsters.

This could easily end up happening since they value conference championships

If we have to play a sorry, no good team, I would rather play Houston.

Tell that to Penn State.
