When the CFP committee makes its final picks next week it will ultimately make a subjective decision in ranking 4 SEC teams with similar records, LSU, Auburn, Tennessee and Florida with Sugar Bowl implications. A full season review of each team would find similar highs and lows. The committee will be in the same position as the NCAA basketball committee in choosing the last 4 in. Final impressions and gut feelings as to which team will be strongest on January 1 , all things being equal will be the deciding points.

AT this point LSU just looks more dynamic with 2017 Heisman candidate Derrius Guice and Leonard Fournette ending his illustrious career in his hometown, a new colorful media savvy Cajun coach, an aggressive defense which flys around the field and will be healthy again by New Years day.

Auburn looks like a solid team but no flash and dash and a worst passing attack than LSU.

Florida's win over LSU was a fluke, a poor tackling technique on the one deep pass they threw without safety support allowed their lone touchdown. LSU red zone offense made uncharacteristic unforced errors. If BAMA drubs the Gators by 20 points or more they will have lost any luster.

Tennesse being drubbed by Vandy sends them Belk bowling.

LSU should be the clear choice and will be ranked in the top 15 a notch or two above the other SEC teams.

Won't need a committee to decide their fate.

These high flying ladies ae going to make a serious run for the national championship which barely eluded them last season. Probably the only national title LSU will win this school year.

The OU fans are also worried that a matchup with Auburn saves Stoops job for one more year!

We lost to both, and Auburn doesnt have another game to play (and lose) to drop them behind us.
Only way we get to the Sugar is if the SEC office (which it wont) asks the committee to do it.

The committee wont just be seeding teams through the prism of how individual teams did head to head. It will consider many factors.

Wishful thinking.

I'd like a Sugar Bowl invite, but I don't see us getting one over two teams with better records who both beat us head-to-head.

So I guess the Aggies would still be in the hunt since they were 2 out of 3 beating Auburn and Tenn. Just joking but I think pretty much anything could happen. A&M NO.

Auburn will get the Sugar and lose to OU 31-10. LSU vs OU would be a classic.

One of the things that hurts LSU is being local. The bowl games are sponsored in major part by the hotel/motel/restaurant groups. While LSU could fill the stadium they wont necessarily fill downtown NOLA hotels and restaurents all weekend. They prefer to sell the three day weekend packages as much as possible. LSU will bring a lot of daytrippers. As long as there is a good travelling opponent that is not too big an issue.

They want tourism. Picking LSU doesn't offer that.

They may be able to put a nice polish on a turd of a season after all. Wow. Who woods thunk it? LSU has not beaten a ranked team all year, right?
