Number one I love LSU and have been been a fan from 1962. This is a very young team and no one is looking at that after all we were picked to be last in the west this year.Clemson QB has been there for two years starting and that means a lot. there are only 13 seniors and 26 juniors on this team. Only the teams that beat us like ole miss had 33 juniors 27 seniors,Alabmam 21 and 24 Arkansas has 30 and 11. We do forget that the last few years that we have lost players to the pros and some just did not work out this is facts.

Our system is flawed regardless. There's still no excuse not to pass midfield against a team you once beat in a game that created the Bama dynasty. Fact

LSU's big issue is that we don't recruit every position hard every years

We will let something like LB recruiting slack off to the point were we have possible 3 scholarship LBs on the roster this spring (idk who is an EE) and one of them was a safety.

We don't go and get a QB EVERY year. We need to. They don't all work out. Thats fine, but you need to recruit enough to 1 works out every 2-3 years instead of getting stuck with a sophomore after a 5th year senior leaves.

Two redshirt freshman won the Heisman recently. If it was as simple as a lack of experience, they would have ridden out last year with Harris.

The post I replied to nailed it. Linebacker and quarterback recruiting has been atrocious. I don't care if you got three top ranked QBs the year before, going an entire class without a qb is suicidal these days.

good gosh, so sick of the excuses

always going to be young, time to coach them up.

lol we were picked to be last?

that was mississippi st.. who at least had a returning senior qb..

arkansas lost their best player to start the season. arkansas lost to toleda, tt, and so on and so on.. and we can't even be competitive vs them for 2 straight seasons.

arkansas couldn't win an SEC game in forever, but we give them their first last year..

stop with the excuses. we will always be young, but we are also among the most talented.

and lol at "only teams to beat us" and we lose 5 a year ago and 3 this year

just stop.. this is so ridiculous. better coaching with great talent wins in college football.

we beat ole miss last year, we were less experienced last season than this.. yet we still lost 5 freaking games..

notre dame had a zillion injuries and literally was fielding 3 starters on D in the bowl game.. and you can blame the d for that loss.. but outside of 3 big plays.. the offense actually didn't do shite on them.

we had 1 busted pass play for a td
1 long td run
and 1 fournette kick return td..

that was pretty much it.. we should have scored at will on them. especially with all the prep.. but our coaching is declining.. our philosophy is shite.

I think we agree fully on this

Yeah and some redshirt freshmen never see the field, and some redshirt freshmen suck.

I would love to have a Manziel, or a Winston or a Watson, but MOST QBs aren't that good at any point in their career, much less their 2nd year in college.

Excuses
Exactly.

Miles is a wonderful recruiter and a good guy.

He has a brilliant agent and has maximized his position and earnings. He held LSU hostage and leveraged himself into the present-day huge buyout situation with the openings at Arkansas and Michigan. This makes him not the innocent or saint some wish to portray him as to me.

He has been given all the support necessary to take the program to the pinnacle of CFB and cannot do so because he cannot evolve. The most glaring evidence of this is his archaic and flawed belief in run-oriented offensive line play being the single-most important strategic element of the game.

He (& LSU) backed, squirmed, wiggled and lucked into the NC in 2007 as a two-loss team. That set of circumstances isn't happening again for any team.

He will not and cannot change his way of thinking or strategy. He has been too successful doing it his way and recent events have reinforced that he cannot be told anything by Alleva. He now answers to no one and is a stubborn, proud old man. To expect change from him is idiocy.

We will revisit this issue again next season after another year of losses to teams with less talent than LSU.

Kind of sad when you don't look at the people we have lost to the pros that is why we have more then anyone in the NFL now.Arkansas beat us two times when we were 10-2 then even beat us when Nick Saban was here when they had bad teams.

And those are two positions Louisiana hasn't produced a ton at. Until Beckwith our best linebackers have been from oos, and all our decent qbs of late have been from oos.

Funny you should say that. We have recruited at least 1 quarterback every year since 2006. The last year we didn't recruit one before that was 2004 when Lord Saban was here.
