I'd rather the 2 - 2hr games per week than the 1 - 3.5hr game per week of football. Baseball may be too many games but I still love it.

I really don't expect us to win, but if we do then we're right back on track. We basically swapped Mizzou and Ole Miss. If we get past this week at 3-1 I'll be very pumped

Last win at the Tad Pad was Jan 17 2009

One of my favorite games ever was when one of Brady's teams went into the TadPad and absolutely ran a train on Ole Miss…beat them by about 40. Was that the Final Four year?

That win was by 32. I can't find one by more than that...

Basketball and baseball are better than football. Football you have to wait an entire week before the next game. Basketball and baseball give you a couple each week.

I'm a big basketball fan, but that's what makes football so great and the most popular sport in America. In a society where everyone wants things NOW, football makes us wait. By doing so, the anticipation builds to a fever pitch by gameday.

Fans can afford not to give a shite about a single baseball game in May when they know there are 120 still left to be played. Same thing with NBA basketball games in December. This also applies to college football and baseball, albeit on a smaller scale.

I always kind of liken it to Christmas. Christmas is great because it only comes once a year. Football is great because you only get to see one game a week, and then, only for 3-5 months out of the year. You want to ruin football? Dilute it by adding more games and increasing the length of the season. More is not always better.

Initial lines have Ole Miss by 5. I thought it may be a little bit more than that.

That was our 2000 SEC Championship team under Brady with Jabari Smith, Besheara, Stromile, etc.

It is absolutely pathetic Brady couldnt get that talented bunch past the Sweet 16.

Yes. We won that game 97-53 in 2000.

As much as I didn't care for Brady, I don't put that on him. Matching up with Wisconsin in the Sweet 16 was the absolute worst possible matchup for us. We were a finesse team and Wisconsin absolutely pushed us around and took us out of our game.

That was the year Wisconsin destroyed us huh? LSU was just not the better team that day.

I think we were the 4 seed, and we were the highest seed left in our bracket after the first two rounds. Wisconsin went on to the Final Four.

LSU 71, Ole Miss 80

Nooooooooooooo!

I want to believe that we make up for the Mizzou loss by getting a win against Ole Miss on the road.

Got a bad feeling about this one. Most of the bets are being placed on LSU to cover the 6.

It was a bad matchup because Brady wasn't a great offensive coach. There were times where his teams were miserable trying to execute a competent offense. Wisc. wasn't more physical, they just played outstanding defense and LSU was more than happy to keep chucking bad 3's and contested shots. Dick Bennett was the coach for Wisc. His son seems to be doing ok with that same hard-nosed defensive style at UVA

I'm really hopeful that LSU can come out and play like we did against West Virginia. Watched WVU beat Oklahoma by 21 last night...

I remember that 2000 @ Ole Miss game very well. It was in the middle of a Mardi Gras parade, and I was listening on the radio...it was over before the tip-off as Ole Miss was awful that year and Stromile was at the top of his game

Also during a Mardi Gras parade was LSU @ Tennessee in 2003...we went off from 3....I think Torris Bright had 6 3's that game it was probably the most perfect LSU basketball played in the last 20 years

Ole Miss isn't going to get out and try to play an uptempo game with LSU like WVU did. That was a nice matchup for LSU and they took advantage.

That said, OM isn't the "slowest" team in the world either. I think LSU can draw them into a fast-pace game at times, but the Tigers have to be smart when they attack the basket. The one thing that stands out for me from the first 2 SEC games is just how poor LSU has been at finishing in transition

Like the west virginia game, its an opportunity. This is almost a make or break game for the tourney, almost. If they can get this one and saturday against a&m, we will be in position. If we go 1-1, then we will e behind the 8 ball and have to go on a run at some point
