Uggh I am already dreading the gymternet narrative that will exist when, inevitably, UCLA makes it and its like, this is what LSU gets for taking AJ (no need to rehash that whole thing), but I was very optimistic at Gym 101 and the first meet of the season, then everything seemed to go off the rails.

Yeah there was already someone in the FB group suggesting it was bad karma for taking AJ. So tired of that BS!

Sucks to have your worst two meets at the end of the year. I am still not okay. So many what could have beens and what ifs. Like what if Kai didn’t get hurt? What if Aleah and Tori had of come in healthy? What if Haleigh was healthy today? So much went wrong this year for this team and it’s unfortunate.

It does. But you almost felt it was in the cards. And the mistakes today weren’t from those who filled in…they were from the veterans.

Is the bracket on LSUSports incorrect? It shows LSU at 197.735, MIzzou at 197.195, Iowa at 196.585 and UNC at 196.330. I am certainly not a gymnastics guru but that looks like first place to me. Or maybe that was their score going in?

Edit: Duh. Was their qualifying scores.... My bad.

No one is happy when they loose including ALL LSU sports. That's what makes the games interesting to watch. Teams have good and bad seasons as we all hope they will win the championship. But reality sets in and what counts is that we have enjoyed the games until there are no more, knowing in the end that only one team wins it all.

Our ladies had a good run at it this year and it's unfortunate for blunders in different events that any of our athletes make, no different than missing the last 2 point shot or the winning field goal, to striking out with the tying or winning run on base. We are all human!

Being #6 nationally before this meet is perhaps not as good as previous years but fantastic by most standards.

Hold your head high ladies, thanks for all you did this year and let's crush it next year!

No sugar coating anything. A team with these athletes (top level 10's and national team members) should be much much better.

I agree. It seems we are regressing

silver lining: the team is no longer being held hostage by the coach's infatuation with the "super seniors"

HC is gonna have to actually do something different other than rely on the same girls who were passengers for the Finnegan/Hambrick/Edney era.

Well Dunne actually did good today, 9.85 on bars and 9.900 on floor. Still never had a single beam rep this year which I don't get

VERY interested to see how this plays out.

Kiya is the only senior next year.

I think Dunne’s floor was a highlight and was very consistent this year for limited reps.

That is incorrect: We also have Kai, Alyona and Kamryn

Chase will be a junior next year. And I omitted Maddie and Lexi because we will most likely not see them in another lineup again for the remainder of their careers. They only vaulted their freshman years due to Alyona not being fully healthy and recovered from her achilles tear the summer coming into college as well as Kai and Sarah E’s injuries during the year

Unreal, been busy the last couple hours, witnessed the start of the meltdown but thought/hoped they’d work it out

Oh yes that’s right. Chase competed a lot last year….that’s why I keep thinking she’s a junior.

I think chase looked good when I saw her. She looked physically ready if called upon for sure.

Please save the downvotes but what reason did Rhonda Fain get black balled for? I know it had something to do with that dirtbag Dr. but as far as collage coach she was right there with KJ at OK.
