Not sure if this is true but from the comments

quote:

There was no drop, other than the SCAR game which was counted into LSU’s attendance figures and skewed the number. Without that game LSU averaged 102,004, also SDS has LSU’s number from last year completely wrong it was 101,723 last year.

Half of the SEC saw a dip in attendance in 2015, no program more than LSU, which weathered a 10 percent decline.

Good question. Article did not mention that. If so I will discontinue reading SDS.

LSU led the sec in ticket sales the past two seasons. Wasn't sure if they would this season though because of Kyle field getting a boost.

Which probably includes South Carolina and monsoon-like Western Kentucky game.

A number that I saw earlier in the year included the SoCar game, and I imagine this one does too. There are lies, damned lies, and statistics.

They included the USC game. Anyone with a brain knows you don't.

Auburn - 102321
Eastern Michigan - 102321
South Carolina - 42058
Florida - 102321
Western Kentucky - 101561
Arkansas - 101699
Texas A&M - 101803

With USC - 93441
Without - 102004

Article is complete BS. Not only did they screw up the 2015 number, the 2014 number they have is more than capacity. The real number for 2014 is 101,723.

2014 - 101,723
2015 - 101,978

So actually a slight bump. but its tickets sold not actual so its really not relevant anyway.

I'm sure they were. SC was about 30K.

wtf is that shite? You can't count a game like USC and then say we had a huge dip. That's horribly misleading

It wasn't even a home game for us officially, so not sure why we would get the penalty for soft ticket sales

The stat I 'd like to see is the number of actual butts in the seats. With the exception of the Fla. game, I didn't see TS with any thing near 100K in the seats. And as the games progressed, 65-75 K, mabe.

The writer is either just really terribly at his job and ran some figures, saw a huge drop for LSU, and got so giddy about posting it that he forgot to ask "Why?" and dig a little deeper. In this scenario, he might have considered checking the math as sufficient due diligence.

Or he knew why and still wanted to throw shite against a wall for whatever purposes he had in mind.

Either way, it's SDS, not an actual credible source of news and info, so whatever.
