LSU Finishes Regular Season With #1 Total Defense in SEC. #2 Scoring Defense.

I don't have the final stats because they haven't been updated to include last night's games, but if you add in the yards/points that Bama and Ole Miss gave up yesterday, LSU jumps to the #1 defense giving up 305.8 ypg and 16.4 ppg. If anyone wants to figure them all out, you can. I am sure that it will update officially later today.
Pretty incredible considering how this defense started out.

Opponents play conservatively against us because they know we can't score. That's not to say our defense didn't end up being pretty good.

What is pretty incredible is that the defense was on the field for 75% of the games due to our shitty arse offense and still kept that rankiing.

Matters?
It is a credit to our defensive players and coaches and it highlights even more how inept the offense was.

75%?
Against both A&M and Alabama, our time of possession was 40 min to 20 min.
We dominated TOP in both those games.

We lead our opponents in time of possession in almost every game, so they were actually on the field LESS than 50% of the time

Miles will be quick to note needed improvement, while completely ignoring discuss about the offense.

And we'll be better next year across the board on D

Yep. Helluva turnaround .

I'm worried about our DEs

LSU ended up 4th in TOP nationally. The run,run offense helps the Defense.

Miles should be splitting his salary with Chavis, cause Chavis is keeping him from looking like a fool.

Chavis sometimes looks to be the only one who does his job and makes the adjustments. We can't afford to lose him.

Sure a far cry from calling for his head like some did earlier this season.

We went from the 96th run defense after week 5, to the 36th run defense
We are also 5th in pass defense after playing 3 of the top 25, 4 of the top 30 and 5 of the top 40 passing offenses

Too bad we didn't have this defense last year.
