The seaplane from Seattle to Friday Harbor is incredible. It was the highlight of our trip. Just do it!

Boeing plant in Everett, Pike Place, I enjoyed the aquarium, there's a place called Elliott's On the Bay, great seafood; not far from the aquarium.

The salmon ladder, take a boat tour on Lake Washington.

If you can rent a car and the weather suits, take a drive to Mount Ranier. That was really fun.

You can see Mt. Ranier easily from Seattle on a sunny day and it looks like it's just down the street-it's about 2 hours away.

Downtown monorail, Space Needle.

I love that city. It's great.

There is an alumni group in Seattle. They have a Facebook page. "Seattle Tigers". They would probably have good advice. I know there is a festival at Seattle Center on Memorial day weekend.

If you can get to Victoria, BC...it's worth it.
The University of Washington is a beautiful campus.
Sports complex downtown, along with Pike's Market, shops, restaurants and bars are cool.

You might as well head up to Vancouver since you will be that close.

If you want to play golf go play Chambers Bay in Tacoma, site of next years US Open. I played it in 09 and it was phenomenal. One of my foursome was a teaching pro from the UK who said it was as authentic a links course as he had ever played. It's a beautiful place to spend a day.

If you can get your wife for a day, take her to Victoria, BC for a day. See Buchart Gardens and check out the harbor. Go on a whale watching trip to the San Juan Islands.

If you like beer, hit up the breweries and or taprooms. Or better yet, take the 2 1/2 hour trip south to Portland to do that.

I hiked rainier from paradise tourist center and it was incredible. the first part of the hike was easy, paved and led to great vistas. I went up to 7500 to see snow.

bring rain gear because it drizzles off and on pretty much all the time. we were constantly fiddling with rain gear.

honestly, I don't think anyone in our group liked the crab pot. the food and service were terrible.

the pacific science museum was interesting, especially the butterfly exhibit.

my wife got parmesan chicken at belltown pizza and pasta and to this day says it was the best she's ever had. my food was great too.

I wanted to see the haystacks on the shore but, didn't have time.

whale watching would have been good but, it wasn't the right season.

Olympic park has hikes and tropical rainforest.

it was a once in a lifetime kind of trip for us and it delivered the whole time.

One day we drove to Port Angeles and then up to Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park. Breathtaking views.

The next day we drove to Mt. Rainier (via Paradise on south side). Couldn't get a good view of the summit, but it snowed. This was the first week of September. First snow of the year.

Great trip.

I played Chambers Bay and if you are a golfer you should as well. The 2015 US open will be played there.

ETA coolpapa beat me to it.

I'm actually going to Seattle in August for a Safeco conference! Is she attending the same training conference? That would be pretty funny

I lived there for 3 years. Everyone has mentioned some good stuff but there are some really cool walking tours.

I did a food tour of Pike's Place via LINK / It was awesome and you get to eat a lot of cool food. The best part was the history of the market on the tour. Since you are part of the tour, they will do cool stuff for you too like the fish toss, etc. They don't usually do that unless you are with a tour or buying a big fish.

Mt. Rainer is awesome and I highly recommend. Go to Crystal Mountain and ride the gondola up. You can do some hiking around there. If it is not a clear day, don't bother.

There's a yacht club on the lake right next to a hooters. Go there for happy hour. Wine and appetizers are half price, and the food was awesome.

All good advise from above. Would only add, take a sailing day in the Pudget Sound through each f the 3 gate of their largest Lakes, Union, Washington, and Semamish ( know I am butchering the spelling, but that is frenetically how I recall it sounds). A day on the water is quite awe inspiring appreciating the beauty of this fine city from all waterfronts.

we went into Seattle the day we arrived and checked it out, including Pike Place Market and such
next day we went to Mt ST Helens, was awesome
next day we went to Anacortes and took the ferry to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island and had a day long kayak tour. They also have quite a few whale watching tours there. Again, was awesome
The next day was the game
The last day we went to The Gorge for a concert.
