I still think you need more than one game before you throw in the towel...

No towel-tossing here. Was just trying to explain the angst many of us feel.

Well I think LSU fans like the first game of 2007 when we played Miss State and beat them
44-3 and then the next week we played Va.Tech
and beat them convincingly 44-0 or some score like that....That is what we like to see and feel. It's a true love affair for the tigers in a
perfect world we would never loose....

might wanna go back and check those scores

"It's Wednesday. This is embarrassing."

What is embarrassing is that anyone would make a deal out of this. Message boards and Sports talk shows have always been dominated by a few who feel the overwhelming need to express their negative opinions. And that is true every year/every team.I see no more negativity this year then after last years opener against App. St. It was true for Saban too. Oh my god! Yes it was. Saban had his negatigers. That's why he left. he couldn't take the heat after Iowa meltdown(Tounge in cheek) Bring on the Dores.

good post, i was upset about this game also, but there is no need for the hate and sarcasm that is spread on this board, we are all LSU fans supposedly, but people like Josh336 sit here 24-7 scrolling threads to see if he can put a negative spin on them, personally attacking posters. On the other hand there are great posters, great fans on here. Not everyone can post the most interesting informative posts, im not so good at it myself and maybe i shouldnt start threads anymore, thats fine, but im a tiger fan win or lose, before or after season starts, Les miles and the tigers were the greatest thing since sliced bread before the season started, then after the 1st game, people attacked the team, the coach, other posters, whoever they could find, these people are the true ''bandwagon fans''

So LSU fans are the only fans out of what 117 D-1 teams that get pissed when there's a sub par performance? I think anyone that is perceived as "negative" is merely concerned that Les could be a guy that can recruit but can't seem to stay consistent ala Ron Zook, or Dinardo. Yes we won, but that doesn't mean all is well-Just look back at the Auburn game last year. We won that one, but it was a sign of things to come.

We have a vocal minority that just hate Les Miles. It doesn't matter what he does. Whether its the hat,the Tennessee 2005 game, less than glib speaking style, these clowns generally want to see him fail, and therefore LSU fail in the process.

Honestly I wish they'd just pull for another team.

We all should understand one important thing, some of them do "pull for another team"!

Because of all the stuck up season ticket holders, I am having to turn on the team until such time that season tickets become available.

Again, I'm not saying that we can't point out what's wrong or be critical. That is what fans do. There is a lot that went wrong in that game - a lot that needs fixing.

It is the "sky is falling" attitude that needs to be tempered. One thing that Saban was right about was the catastrophe syndrome. We are in it full-fledged. We all need to step back from the ledge and see how this plays out. If we are still playing this way in November and we finish 7-5 like we did last year, I'll be the first to say that Miles needs to be fired RIGHT NOW. No more chances. But, we aren't there yet and I'm going to give him a chance to bring this team along. If he can't do it, then we need to find someone who can. But, one game should not cause us to give up on the team yet.

I still say we go 9-3 and win our bowl game to finish 10-3. Not great, but enough for Les to keep his job and make all the Negatigers completely miserable.

No, they haven't, some are disappointed with the team's performance, and rightly so. Some express it the wrong way and are just stupid- "fire this guy, fire that guy", no one takes these people seriously except you. Others criticize like me, but try to keep it constructive. They did some things well, but in other areas they need to improve.

Radio call-in shows and this website are the primary places where the venom is being spewed.
Maybe it will light a fire under their assess. We don't want a mediocre football team, and we don't want to pay a coach $4 million a year to put a mediocre product on the field. Miles knows this.
quote:

Opposing fans are even trying to make us lighten up a little by saying it was only the first game and we did win by the way.
All fan bases are like this at some point, it's funny to read here that people think that ONLY the LSU fan base is negative.

I will agree with you on this point, it's not good to be TOO negative.

Do we have real fans who can objectively see some mistakes and then hope for a better showing while cheering for LSU
Yes, you just choose to not acknowledge them (us), because you can make a point about the fans that screech the loudest.

-------------------------

I don't take these people seriously. I think they're a joke. I expected the meltdown on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Even thought Tuesday was okay for some people to get it out of their system. But by Wednesday - enough already! Yeah, it's a free country and people can keep griping if they want, but someone can also say that they wish they would stop.

I know that the vast majority of our fans are good fans. I don't think the entire fanbase has turned against the team. That would be an overstatement. But, enough of the vocal, public fanbase has to give that impression.

The people who keep using this phase are incredibly arrogant and delusional. The only criticism that is constructive is that directed at the negatigers. All this insane negativity is destructive. Pray tell what on earth can be posted on a message board that will manifest in an improved football team. How arrogant can you be?
