University fan suffered severe head injuries and others also were hurt when unknown assailants attacked them after Saturday's football game in Morgantown.

Authorities have not identified the victims but Helen Smith said her son-in-law, Marcus Mason, and daughter, Hannah, of Pittsburgh, were among those attacked. She said they were stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic outside Milan Puskar Stadium when someone threw a rock in the car's driver's side window.

Hannah, who is 22 weeks pregnant, was driving at the time. The rock landed in her lap, Smith said.

Let's try and keep this discussion civil.

Apparently words were exchanged after the rock throwing. I guessed right. That makes sense. Hope they find the perps.

Why would they use the name of a guy from a fight in St Louis 6 years ago? Why not make up a name? I have a very unique last name but when I google my name, I get several hits. Marcus Mason isn't that uncommon of a name.

literally yards away from a top rated trauma center does not make sense.

You're right. A top-rated trauma center located in West Virginia doesn't make sense.

The eye socket and facial injuries seem too coincidental. We need some OT sleuths on this

I am the mother of a young man that was beaten severely Sat night after the football game, LSU/WVU. He, his five mth pregnant wife and two customers were assaulted after the game for no apparent reason. A rock flew into their car. Then someone came to their car and starting beating my son in the face. Three guys pulled him from the car and beat him. He is now in the hospital waiting for swelling to go down so they do surgery. The bones under his eye are crushed, his nose will be rebuilt and the fractured frontal bone will have to heal on it's own. He wife, five months pregnant, was slammed to the ground. The two men with them had visible signs of having been in a fight and torn clothes but didn't have to have medical attention. It's quite a shame that there are people like that are loose on the streets. I pray that they are caught and punished accordingly.

The person who posted this seemed legit. Hopefully it's wrong.

Yikes!

The people involved were taken by ambulance to the local trauma center overnight then allowed to go to the Pittsburgh one where they live. Facts from people who are friends with them. Why would anyone make up a story like this?
