No, pretty sure its a known fact that athletic budgets are payed for by the athletic department, and not the state or LSU.

Yeah, that's all that really matters to them, and I don't blame them. But it'll suck the life out of the atmosphere.

Enough is enough. Not renewing football season tickets. I can still go to most all the games and pay way less buying them individually.

Its simple economics. (Theoretically speaking) If milk sales continue to rise, price will rise as well. It is irrelevant if some of those purchasers pour their milk on the ground instead of drinking it.

That is what they are banking on and like stated some will sacrifice until can't do it any longer like me and others in the thresd and/or become more and more corporate and less people in the stands.

So what's the alternative? LSU is only 1 of 7 schools (and only SEC school) who doesn't get some tax dollars to run its operation. On top of that, millions are donated back to the University each year due to all the budget cuts over the years.

Money has to come from somewhere. Every school has to raise prices to keep up with everyone else. It's a necessary evil to compete at a high level.

So do I, but i understand the reason people leave early is because of apathetic performances against shite teams.

Obligatory truth post: LSU's tickets and fees are still lower than any other school that has won the SEC in the last 50 years. Lower than a few that haven't. Which of the runt schools do most of you care to emulate?

LSU has been raising tix prices every 3 years for over a decade. It hasn't stopped people from buying season tickets. And the new addition is already sold.

Losing is the only thing that will stop people from buying season tickets.

The same people who buy tickets to any major football program today. Or anyone with $5 to their name outside of the stadium. Anyone who isn't homeless can afford to buy tickets. They may not be season tickets, but there are cheap seats to literally every game.

It's 7 - 8 home games a year, dude. That's no reason. We beat the shite out of every crappy team we played this year at home except for Arkansas, and that was well worth it. I'm glad it ended the way it did. If you didn't expect the slow start against Furman, then you clearly didn't watch the Towsen game last year.

I tend to agree but not everyone feels that way. It also doesnt help that all our decent OOC games are played in a different state.

Alleva’s proposal calls for a six percent increase in season-ticket pricing from the previous season. Under the proposal, season-tickets will be $425 next year, a $25 increase from the previous season. Sections in Tiger Stadium, however, have Tradition Fund levels, which will range from $210 to $1,025. Ewing said the department is also proposing decreases in ticket prices. Those looking to purchase season-tickets in the 600-level upper deck seats, will see their prices drop from $400 to $360. Among the upper deck seats, there will be 5,000 seats that won’t have a tradition fund tied to it, Ewing said. Student season tickets prices will remain the same at $84 for general admission and $126 for reserved seats.

His reasonings for the increases have no basis. The athletic dept has enough money, there would be no layoffs.

The SEC network share will more than make up for these increases.

Costs are definitely up as of late. The Athletic Department likes to function comfortably within its budget.
