I'll give you 10 to 1 odds that we dont make the NCAA tourney. That just isn't going to happen.IMO

I'll take those odds, even if I have doubts, big overlay considering Thornton's bigtime scoring capabilities, Johnson's possible upside, and most importantly, whether Taz is healthy and ready to step up his game to another level, improvement by the roster returnees, and not the least of which is the possibility of the Frosh stepping up and contributing.

If LSU plays like they did down the stretch last year, they will be around the twenty win mark.

Interesting. I post a true statement which is irrefutable. You elect to resort to an ad hominem attack.

Im got a good feeling about Chris Bass this year, I think he could contribute in a big way. I think this team may surprise some people.

Unless Big Johnson is the next Red Aurback and Tasmin blows up I would consider that ranking wayyyyy overrated, and that the tigers will not be dancing. Hope I'm wrong!

1998–1999 LSU 12-15 4-12 6th (West)

1999–2000 LSU 28-6 12-4 1st (West) NCAA Sweet 16

2000–2001 LSU 13-16 2-14 6th (West)

2001–2002 LSU 19-15 6-10 T-4th (West) NIT 2nd Round

2002–2003 LSU 21-11 8-8 T-2nd (West) NCAA 1st Round

2006–2007 LSU 17-15 5-11 6th (West)

2007–2008 LSU 8-13 1-6 6th (West)

Overall @ LSU: 192-139 SEC 74-93

Ok, yes you posted factual information but, look at his record in the SEC and postseason play. They are terrible. He has only made it passed the 1st round of the NCAA twice and both ended in blowout losses. His only other passed the 1st round of postseason game he loss in the 2nd round as well. Also for his SEC titles, one was outright with a very good team that won because of heart, not coaching. The other was a 4-way tie. Of his 3 SEC west titles, 2 were outright. Ok, he does have the titles, good for him. The fact of the matter is this, if he was a good coach, he would still be at LSU. How come Pierre was able to win with the same kids Brady only won a single SEC game with? The downfall of Brady was when he started to change his style and philosophy every year instead of sticking to what got him the LSU job to begin with and that was hardwork, dedication, very good defensive coach(which he did have them playing good D) and being a good offensive minded coach that would attack other teams weaknesses whereas the past few years he would never make adjustments. But oh well, Brady is gone, Trent is here and we all like LSU so lets root for the tigers in 08-09 and see what Trent does.

And some on here thinking that Brady is a good HC???

Go to ASU board to support him, losers.
We don't need a losing HC at LSU.

First, I truly hope Trent Johnson is the most successful basketball coach in LSU history, winning multiple SEC titles and hoisting the first NCAA basketball championship banner to the top of the PMAC.

Second, you apparently have little knowledge of the condition of the program when Brady arrived, nor do you realize that half of his tenure was affected by NCAA investigation and draconian sanctions. Despite thes obstacles he won 2 SEC titles, 3 SEC West titles and took teams to the Final Four and Sweet 16. If you choose to judge those successful seasons by the final game loss, then you have only one agenda, negativity toward Brady.

Third, if it was all so easy then why is Brady one of only three coaches with multiple SEC titles during his tenure. He is one of only three SEC coaches to take teams to the Final four during that time. He has more SEC West titles than any other coach during that period. Why do you seek to demean those accomplishments. Perhaps the year there were co-champions the league was more balanced and competitive than years with a single champ.

Fourth, Pierre did not win with the same players. Brady coached all of his SEC games last season without Chris Johnson in the lineup. When CJ returned to action ther Tigers became a much more formidable foe.

The 1935 banner is not for an NCAA basketball championship.

We need to keep our star players for more than a year or two before they head to the NBA for this to happen.
