This. No matter how good they are perceived to be, we are still 6-time national champion, LSU, and they are still lowly Vanderbilt. We have a tradition of winning in Omaha. They don't. We have always owned SEC baseball. They haven't. We have the mistique. They don't.

How many weekend series have we lost this year? (I honestly don't know the answer.)
TCU has to "take a series" from us. Then, so will Vandy.

1.

But we had Lange for all but one of those series... won't have him for these next 3 games.

You seriously think they would hold Lange out for the second game against Vandy if we can beat TCU with Person and Vandy once with Poche?

Uhh... yes.

He's not starting on 3 days rest after throwing 119 pitches.

IMO baseball is all about momentum. If we can somehow win the next 2 games I like our chances to win it all.

Ugh, it just wouldn't seem right to get all the way to that game and have them play Fulmer while Lange is on the bench.

If Godfrey can come back strong and Bain pitches the best he has this year we have a real shot at this! Our offense has to wake up but I think we will knock TCU off and if we can whip that arse real good like 13-2 and dominate them it may just scare Vandy enough to where we can sneak that first one from em and then all we have is one game to win!!!

Lange and Poche have been excellent this year winning 21 games between them. That tells me we have 30 + other wins on the staff. Somebody besides your top two pitchers has stepped up.

Surely it's not against the level of competition, but we have some quality arms who can gobble up some innings.

Person is 2-0
Godfrey is 7-1
Reynolds is 6-0
Bain is 2-2
Norman is 5-1
Newman is 3-0

We can do this!!!!

Would not TCU have to do the same? Does this make sense now why Lange was targeted for Vandy in the second game after a win.

Cus it's not like pitchers use to be on 4 day rotations or pitched on 3 days rest in a series or 119 pitches was consider low at any point in baseball history, right? ...

If the kid says he can throw, you throw him. But I'm sure you'll tell Nolan how wrong he is about that...

Lange has battled arm tightness/soreness earlier in the year. Lange has missed a series. Lange has always needed long rest.

This is a different era of baseball, where you don't risk a college pitchers arm to win a game.

Get a clue.

You're a dumbass. That attitude of holding one back has led to more pitching injuries than 'over use'. But you would argue with Nolan and Tommy too, or did your mom not read the article to you?

I'm pretty sure Tommy John has... but hey! What does his opinion matter, right?

Probably a little less than the doc who did the surgery. And all the other docs including James Andrews and Mark Field (who did mine) who perform the surgery regularly and know the histories of the players they treat.

Their opinion has zero value I suppose.
