In an elimination game, you definitely see Fulmer Saturday. No different than us throwing Poche Friday.

I'm hoping for the revenge factor in the TCU game to kick in...

Then I'm hoping Vandy feels the pressure to repeat and against the all time greatest SEC baseball team and caves.

Situation we're in now is a GOLDEN opportunity for a guy like Jake Godfrey to re-emerge and eat up some major innings to save the pen

We can look at this is a Th/Fr/Sa series where LSU HAS to sweep, yet without our best starter.

Series we have swept this year:

Feb 13-15: Kansas
Feb 20-21: Boston College
Feb 27-28: Princeton
Mar 6-8: Houston Classic
Apr 2-4: Alabama
May 8-10: Missouri

TCU will either throw their #2 in Alexander or their "best" stats guy in Traver who has a 1.60 ERA and a WHIP under 1.00

Vandy will have Buehler (Fri) and Fulmer (Sat).

We have a very steep hill to climb here.

Being realistic, our chances don't look good, but at the end of the day it's still baseball and things can go your way, especially with a roster as talented as this one. If this team eliminates TCU tomorrow though, I'm gonna be in full on believer mode.

If we're fortunate enough to get 13 hits again we need to score more than 5.

Then hit more doubles.

13 hits sounds great, but LSU hit 11 singles. It's not just getting hits, it's getting hits for power. Scoring 5 runs off of 15 total bases is actually a pretty decent return. It typically takes three singles to score a single run, from a bases empty situation.

The offense turned a corner, but it's not there yet.

We have a steep hill to climb? Man who would have thunk after losing game one we would.

I was just looking back at 2009 and in game 1 against Virginia and LSU actually threw all 3 weekend starters in 1 game. Ranaudo threw 3, Ross threw 2, and Coleman threw 1.

This is the point where it sucks to be in the bottom part of the bracket like Vandy is. You get one day less rest when it comes to this weekend.

In 2009 LSU played Sat, Monday, then Friday (like Virginia) and Ranaudo started both the Saturday game and the Friday game on almost full rest.

LSU hit 6 singles in the 3rd and scored 4 runs.

shite, Vandy better worry about beating LSU once.

This. No matter how good they are perceived to be, we are still 6-time national champion, LSU, and they are still lowly Vanderbilt. We have a tradition of winning in Omaha. They don't. We have always owned SEC baseball. They haven't. We have the mistique. They don't.

If we put out TCU, which I believe will happen, we will have the mental edge, and it will be very difficult for them to beat us.

It has much more to do with being 5-21 (0.238) with RISP in these two games. You TB stat is nice for your argument, but there have been plenty of runners in position to score and we haven't come through.

One thing that helps is we have nothing to lose. We aren't suppose to come out the losers bracket and win. Just have fun.

You think the defending national champs are afraid of LSU.

I think most people accepted the notion this team isn't winning a NC after the choke-job against TCU.

If we win Thursday, I'll be happy.

If we make it to Saturday, 100% Lange can throw relief.
