Probably what he's referring to:

Afternoon: #LSU's blown 8 saves in 6 #SEC games in 9th inning or later. Breakdown of each and Q&A with Paul Mainieri LINK

Lost 2; won 4

But he's still right about it being a concern even if he's not exactly right.

I believe in Game 1 against Alabama we blew 3 saves. Stallings in the 9th, Bugg in the 11th, Newman in the 13th. Luckily we finally won it in the 16th.

Possibly the longest, most frustrating game I've watched in a long time. I feel like I fell asleep at 12:30 in the morning and it was the last couple of outs

And I'm not saying that it couldn't be an issue going forward. Just that you have to get pretty nitpicky on a team that only lost 9 games.

But yeah, they are overrated.

I've seen people say alot of shite but overrated is not one of them. The hate for the best pitching staff in the SEC is strong though. Some idiot even stated that our 10-0 all SEC freshman pitcher is inconsistent. That had to be the one of the dumber statements of the year.

It could be a problem, if it was actually a problem. This team lost 9 games total, and you're claiming at least half were lost after blowing a lead in the 9th inning.

Nicholls - LSU was losing well before the 9th.
Ole Miss - LSU lost lead in the 9th.
Arkansas - LSU was losing before the 9th.
Kentucky Game 1 - Tied after the 7th.
Kentucky Game 3 - LSU lost lead in the 9th.
Auburn - LSU shut out until the 8th, down 4 going to 9th.
TAMU - LSU down 3 going into 9th.
Miss St - LSU came back to tie in the 9th.
SCAR - LSU losing after 7th.

So 2 losses after blowing a lead in the 9th.

But instead of accepting that, he ignorantly deflects.

I think ya'll have misunderstood me. I am not going to go into the threads and handpick the things that enraged me enough to start a thread like this one but a lot of things I saw were also ignorant.

One person said Lange was inconsistent. Then I saw a few people argue over LSU only being good at hitting when our ERA is 11th in the Nation. I just think our fans need to realize that this team, regardless of 2013, is a good team.

Everyone has weaknesses but the ones being pointed out right now, are wrong.

Our weakness is a few things

Walks - We are 11th in the Nation in Hits Allowed per 9 innings pitched but 83rd in Walks Allowed. A lot of the early runs and scoring comes from those Walks. If we can lower that number from 3.32 to 2.10, we win a National Title.

Jared Poche - Sorry but the time for him to move to the bullpen might be now. Or save him for the Supers or something to give him more rest. He has been rocked recently and he has given up at least 1 run in the 1st inning the last 4 games.

Closer - Jesse Stallings was great early on, he isn't that great now. He is good but the confidence isn't there anymore. Hunter Newman might be better as the Closer or Parker Bugg, as I stated before the season, could fit better. Stallings as the setup man. Or Doug Norman as SU

Old School ball - Sometimes, bunting a runner over is a smart play instead of stealing and being too aggressive and having a runner thrown out at second base. We need to find a better balance of aggressive play and smart play

I'm LOVING this team right now but we've been let down the last few years with what could've been.

So for the time being I'm going to be cautiously optimistic

I thought OLD SCHOOL BALL was Gorilla Ball. Fastest overall LSU Team in years. We need to keep the pressure on the pitchers.

SMALL BALL SUCKS!!!

Eloquently put I must say.

However, some times bunting a player over a base is just as good as a Home Run. Besides, if you rely on hitting and make it to Omaha, what happens when your bats go cold? You need to be able to sacrifice bunt and get a few extra runs here and there is all I am saying.

Who cares if it is boring to you. You must not watch post-season baseball when the California teams travel this way or end up in Omaha. Those are the teams that can truly make a game boring with all their lame arse stall techniques.

I think this team is every bit as good as that one.

There is literally never a situation in which a sacrifice bunt is as good as a home run. Never.

I won't say it's not a good skill to have, though I'm not really much for bunting. But that's a whole other conversation.

Live by the sword, die by the sword. Great win yesterday, but if LSU allows themselves to fall behind too often, they won't be the the NCAA Champs.

What about a sacrifice attempt that turns into a four base error (or errors)?

29-1 when LSU scores first, though. Win percentages: .692 versus .966.

Not as good, the batter wouldn't get credit for either RBI (most likely).
