I'll never forget that first defensive series by LSU where it seemed like we were about to F them up. Then Etling couldn't complete a 2 yard pass on the first offensive series and I knew it was going to be a long night. We had Bama's number on D that night, was so sick.

Cam is gone, so I think we'll have more than a couple of 5 yard pass plays with Matt Canada.
Oh - and a HC that will not interfere with play calling.

Saw the 1958 LSU-Ole Miss game in person at TS. Similar game in the fact that it was purely two outstanding defenses. Also, very similar to the 1932 game between LSU and Tennessee. Both great games.

You realize Cam wasn't our OC during this game?

The best coaches have a hand in playcalling on one side of the ball or the other.

Am hopeful we play a more progressive brand of Offense. Our very well coached, skillful Defense has been left out to dry on a number of occasions.

Show us watch ya got, O

We are pulling for you and the Tigers!!!

It was easily Etling's worst game. There were plays to be made in the passing game but Etling was off. Our oline would give him a clean pocket and he would not be close to the wr on his passes.

There isn't an offensive bead coach in cfb that doesnt have input on the play calling.

Exactly, but the rant has created this myth that we ran the same plays throughout Miles' tenure regardless of the OC. There were huge distinctions in our play calling under each OC.

But you have said over and over that O had nothing to do with the offense... make up you mind....

Gotta throw it down the field on 1st down. Bama has 8 in the box almost every 1st down and we're still trying to run it at them. PA on 1st would have been wide open.

Yes but the OLine could not hold blocks long enough. When the OLine is getting dominated almost every play, there isn't much you can do as far as play calling is concerned. We were extremely outmatched against Bama's DLine.

True. But there definitely was nowhere to run. So I guess it's pick your poison.

You once again prove that your reading comprehension skills are fricking abysmal.

bama didnt load the box on us mostly. they dominated us straight up. sure they walked guys down on obvious run downs but other than that they beat us playing straight up.

I think that was the worst part, we were dominated up front so much, Bama didn't need to load the box that much.
