If they beat UF, Auburn, Ole Miss, Tennessee and lose to Arkansas, they're in at 11-7 IMO with no tourny help needed.

Does anyone think dropping Arkansas and one other will still get them in at 10-8? What about with some SECT help?

not if we lose the first game in the tourney. Losing two games to top 50 RPI teams to end the season than go 0-1 in the SEC tourney isn't good enough to be in the big dance.

We need to run the sec tourney and possibly win it to get in.

10-8 makes it very difficult with their SOS.

A&M doesn't have a very impressive resume, but if the final choice is between them and LSU it's an obvious choice.

UGA is chocking their tournament spot away just like LSU.

LSU's margin of error is all but gone. The only game this team can afford to lose is at Ark. If they lose again before Ark then wining at Ark is their only chance to be in the discussion

It's time for me to learn about this sport with sticks and balls and coaches that wear uniforms. Apparently this is a sport in which LSU does not disappoint.

One, you are dreaming if you think that gets us in. Two, you are dreaming if you think that's possible for this team to achieve.

So, if the impossible happens and we do finish 11-7, we still don't get in. LSU basketball has somehow found a way to be more disappointing than LSU football, and that is no easy task.

Joe Alleva has presided over the biggest and most complete collapse of an athletic department in major college history. Way to go, Joe.

I think 11-7 would get them in. And I've seen you post about college basketball on this board and I'm not super impressed by your opinion. Seem a little dim on the topic, with all due respect.

10-8 won't do it, and I don't think they will make it to 11 wins. This teams really not that good.

I hope there is just a bit of hyperbole here. Major college history? I think some people in Gainesville FL or Ann Arbor, MI (just to name a few) might argue with this statement.

after the Kentucky game the popular opinion was that LSU need to go 5-2 to be solidly in the tournament and the two losses would probably be on the road to a&m and arkansas. anything less and lsu would need a good sec tournament run or a lot of help from the selection committee. I don't see how anything has changed.

A lot depends on what Georgia does. We are extremely lucky they lost to South Carolina last night. We can't make the tournament as the 6th best SEC team.

Unfortunately I see them finishing 21-10 (10-8) and I don't see that making it in with those bad losses.

Like someone stated though, UGA is dropping fast and I could still see SEC getting 4 bids which would put LSU on the bubble. UK, ARK, A&M and either Ole Miss/UGA/LSU.

The next 4 games are imperative for LSU to win.. But 3 of the teams have losing records, and that for this LSU team has been their downfall.Win all four and a close game against Arky, win or lose, gets this team in the tourney. Those of you who say it wont obviously do not have a clue about basketball or the NCAA tourney! But the key word in my phrase was IF! And we all have watched this team all year to know that they will not win all four games. And with the lack of depth, this team is no way shape or form a team that can win 4 games in 4 days at the SEC tourney. SO they will once again be an NIT team. Probably a top seed. But not be motivated to play in it an lose their first game.
