If its in prime time and not competing with a major nfl game it's a great thing because everyone will be watching LSU.

jbeam...you grew up in br, but for those of us with family elsewhere it forces you to pit football vs. family every other year. its a huge inconvenience for any lsu fan that doesnt live in baton rouge or is from somewhere else.

This is a terrible idea. I don't care who the opponent that week is, but the damn game needs to stay on Friday.

There is no sense in putting it on Thanksgiving. If Alleva doesn't fight this, he needs to be fired.

What if the networks are making this part of the current TV rights negotiations?

But is this truly any different from having to deal with traveling to BR for the friday games against Arky or worse having to travel to Fayetteville this year. Folks are still picking between Football or Turkey day with family.

To be honest, this all comes down to TV ratings. The SEC & ESPN/ABC see this as a chance to put a primetime SEC game on.

ok.

And when the SEC, Mike Slive, and the networks tell him they don't care what he thinks...then what?

Hmmm wasn't to long ago that LSU fans hated that friday afternoon game..

I love it. It will make Thanksgiving exponentially better. To hell with Arkansas.

This is fricking fantastic, a guaranteed night game. Just celebrate your traditional thanksgiving on friday or saturday.

.

yes and no....its a lot easier on fridays to fly in early in the morning, like mm did last year frow dfw, or drive in from texas or north la on friday morning after spending time with the family on thursday. at least we'll be getting a lot of national exposure i guess

Don't lump me in with those people, I've always liked the game on Friday.

And I believe Alleva needs to be done away with for several reasons, this would just be another one.

What advantage would there be to playing on Thanksgiving night up against the NFL game instead of playing in our own established timeslot on Friday against no other TV competition?

The stadium seems to have trouble filling up for the Friday games in the past. Do they think it will be better on a Thursday?

this is awesome. Primetime on that night is perfect.either eat lunch with momma then drive to the game, or unbutton your pants and watch it on the couch. I love this.

From what I understand the three NFL games that play on thanksgiving are over by the time that the UT/A&M game was usually played. I'm sure Slive/ESPN/ABC will just slide us into that timeslot. I don't see it as being terrible for rating because of the market you are trying to introduce it too.

how is it terrible

Because its a game I was really looking forward to going to with a big group of Aggies friends and now I will never get to go and if it is on Thanksgiving night will not get to watch with friends I like to watch games with.

either way they've got you

Which is why it sucks. I don't understand your point, no one is saying they won't watch. A lot of us won't be able to go. I don't care about about never going to the Arkansas game, but this is a game I was looking forward. As to having a national audience, that I grossly over rated, LSU has a national recognition already.
