there are coaches who are winning at mid majors. there should be no reason lsu can't get one of them who is proven to win with lesser facilities, resources, budget, etc.

your assumption would be grossly incorrect.

I have seen no examples of these coaches they speak of.
look at any proven coach from a mid major.

Stevens was probably not going anywhere at the collegiate level outside of Duke.
then perhaps we weren't trying hard enough. other schools have made this sort of thing happen

What makes you think any of these guys had the least bit of interest in coming to LSU? Even if they did, LSU is in no position, hoops wise, to throw the checkbook at them.

Hiring JJ was an effort to rebuild the program from within, which is our best shot down the road.

You, and many others, act as if the season is a complete bust when we're only 3 games into the SEC schedule.

Have a little faith.

perhaps lsu didn't do anything to make it look interesting to them or didn't even go after them at all. I hope you don't think that successful mid major coaches are content to remain where they are, that they aren't upwardly mobile.

why not? that's the question some people are asking.

some people disagree

we aren't going to make the tourney with a pretty decent roster. that's pretty much a bust.

in what? the results are pretty much exactly what happened at unt - disappointment.

They would have more REAL fans who care to go to the game , if it wasn't for the OVERPRICED seats. Most of the fans there drawing with these silly prices are very much "fare weather fans".

Killing support of REAL fans with tradition fees.

.. It's starting to be a LSU Tradition.

It all starts with support from the fan base.

Actually it starts with consistent success on the court. Something LSU hasn't had in decades.

Relax people we fired a guy 18 months after he went to the final four with his best player out for the year. Who would want to come to a school like LSU after that. CJJ has already lapped TJ with the talent he has brought in alone. CJJ needs to hire a x and o guy like a Treloar, or Huckabee type to help him coach. He has nothing but recruiters on his staff. The atmosphere of college bb is a crapshoot with anyone you hire because of the type of kid you have to recruit to compete. TJ would not play that game and look what we got, the worst three years in LSU bb history. CJJ knows how to get those kids he just needs to find a bench coach to help him coach these kids along with him. There are very few Donovans out there, CJJ will be fine he just needs to hire a bb coach to help him coach. At least we have a couple of kids who are very talented and can flat play. There are no Matt Darenbeckers on this roster.

There is no such thing as a hire at coach that is going to be guaranteed. Just look at Trent. He had a great resume and winning record at major colleges. Every time you change coaches it is a crap shoot. Trent couldn't recruit and he played a boring style of walk up basketball. Johnny is a great recruiter who seems to have trouble inspiring his players and giving them confidence. The next guy could be even worse! CJJ is on track to put this team back to where it was. It is not an overnight thing if you want lasting success. At least give him a couple of more years before you write him off. Next year he has a great scoring guard coming in and the freshmen this year will be more experienced. I think we all were so hungry for success that we expected way too much from this team. And this season is far from over. Let's see how we end up ehh?

Can't tell if you are being serious, but single game tickets as well as season tickets (tradition fees) for basketball are incredibly cheap in the upper levels.

That is by far the shitty excuse I've ever heard of for not going to a basketball game and is not the reason why people don't go to games.
