Wait before kickoff for tickets. I found 2 tickets in the lowers in 2014 for $75 a piece. Dude just wanted to unload them.

Are you serious? I stay in Los Angeles Hilton for $119/ night; you probably don't travel much
How the frick is that relevant? This is supply and demand. There are only so many nice hotels in BR. Anything within reasonable distance is either booked or $300+/night with a two night minimum. Stay in Cali you fricking prick.

The hate for anyone who mentions being in Cali for any amount of time on this site is so high

The closest hotel room available may be in Thibodeaux. Nicholls plays a road game that wknd.

LSU TKE's and let them know your story and that you're visiting for the first time ever (just lie if you've been before) and wanted to see if y'all could crash on their couches. I'm not a TKE but most fraternities are welcoming to this

You can find a ticket for cheaper than that. Just wait until right before kickoff
This. Dont let anyone tell you different.

200 bucks should be more than enough for a night in a decent BR motel.

Searching on Expedia, the closest availability is Seigen and the hotels range from $230 - $300/night plus taxes and fees. That ends up being over $250/night with a two night minimum.
Or you can stay at the Paradise Inn for $90/night and hope to live through the weekend.

I would think higher unless you want to stay in a roach motel.
LOL no.
Admittedly they are higher for that weekend. Courtyard on Siegen is $209 that weekend. Normally it's $110 or so a night.

Just go to the Marriot, Hilton, and Holiday Inn websites and do a search for those dates. Choose the closest Hampton Inn, Fairfield, Springhill, or Holiday Inn Express that is reasonably priced, and get their free breakfast. Finished.

Here ya go, I stay here every other year along with out of town family for Ole Miss game. Site now shows $110 per night, and I don't think there's a two night minimum. Not the Tajh Mahal but works for us!

$200 for a ticket
I don't think $200 will get it done. You make some folks watch it at home for 400/ticket.

$200 for a hotel. Doubt you will get anything really close now so you might get under $200. I booked right off of College & I-10 about 2 months ago and there were only 4 rooms left for that weekend. I'm paying $220/night. May look across the river in Port Allen.
I don't know what the game-weekend rates are, but the Port Allen hotels probably wouldn't be a bad option. There are two new ones right off the 415 exit (Holiday Inn and Hampton Inn). Both are less than 10 years old. If you want to eat cheap, there is a Burger King, McDonalds, Popeyes, Taco Bell/KFC all right there. You are also 6 miles (at most) from both LSU and downtown BR. It literally could not be an easier trip to LSU. You cross the bridge and take the first exit. That's it!
