How do you feel about the record? Does 8-5 make a little more sense after the draft (aside the QB situation) or is there a still no excuse policy? Did we perform over or under the talent level?

The decline is real and the proof is in the pudding.

We retained some more players from declaring early this offseason

Hopefully it translates

This was the second time in eleven years we haven't had a 1st Rd pick. It's pretty understandable given the quality of play and youth of the 2014 team.

I'm happy because we didn't have a mass exodus. Let more of the talent here develop before the NFL

It makes me a little more hopeful for next year. From an LSU standpoint, I don't want to see us put 10 guys in the first round because that means we'll have our hands full replacing them the next year.

What did you have to edit? This statement should have been deleted, not edited.

I was reading the SEC preview from last year the other day when I was bored and we had basically no talent. The magazine that I was reading ranked all the units (backfield, receivers, oline, dline, linebackers, dbacks) and the only unit that was in the top half of the SEC was our defensive backfield who was #1. All the others hovered around 7-9. It was really just a down year talent wise and most reasonable people expected us to have less than 10 wins even though it still pissed a lot of people off after it actually happened. We finished up about where we should've considering how bad the draft gutted us honestly

Alabama had 5 players drafted in the first round after the 2010 season, and that team lost 3 games. Not always a correlation.

Big time * on this because LSU did have a 1st round pick in this draft, he just had legal trouble right b4 it started.

Yeah Florida State is gonna be about 7-5 8-4 after this draft. GaTech or Clemson will win the ACC with Duke being the dark horse

Washington had like 6-7 guys drafted in the first 3 rounds with like 3 or 4 in the first round and they were a very average team last year. A good year in the draft doesn't mean a good college season.

I have no idea if these numbers are true and I'm too lazy to look it up.

The mass exodus for the previous three years left us talent and experience stripped last year. In hindsight I think we did pretty good with what we had although I will admit to expecting more in the season.

Also, I came to realize in the Spring Game just how bad our green receivers were last year to go along with our green QB's. Most of this blame has been put on the QB's but half the problem was the receiving corp. In the Spring Game you could see a lot of improvement in both groups so my expectations are going to be much higher this year.
