You can't reference a recruiting class negatively affected by fan booing, b/c it would be a complete assumption, with no data to back it up.

Should I find teams entering losing trends where subsequent recruiting years have been affected for you? I bet it wouldn't be difficult?

FSU comes to mind.
Miami
Nebraska
Washington

Where is your team...the one who is struggling in recruiting b/c of fan reaction? I'll wait. TIA.

vanderbilts not 4-0 and doesnt have 3 national championships and doesnt have athletes like LSU does. one of our strong points if not the strongest for recruiting is out fanbase. all the pieces are there for us to be good, and they recruiter can spin it to say look youre what we need to be good. easy as pie. but if we win, they boo, if we lose, they boo, doesnt work for many people.

It all starts on the field fix that and we would all be having a beer with each other right now rather than arguing.

No wonder we havent pulled a fricking QB in years. No matter who's playing, as soon as the qb makes a mistake, we want teh backup. If the backup doesnt play, we start to boo. You can track this all the way back to 08 after this spoiled fricking fanbase expected every year to win a god damn championship.
Why on earth would any qb want to come here to play for shitty arse fans. They could very well go to another school just because they are treated better. I dont blame them.

UT last week.

And does anyone have any doubt what Georgia's stadium would have sounded like if the MIss. State game was there?

This letter spells it out to the boo birds but I believe they are still too stupid to understand. It is a shame he even has to write such a thing. Well done though. Thanks Joe

while this is true, please name a fan base that has booed a 4-0 team. dont tell me this has been going on for 2 years and its time to voice our displeasure either. its 2010 and lsu is 4-0, not 0-4 inspite of our shitty offesive displays.

The offense sucks. The offensive coaching sucks. We are dealing with a stubborn head coach. People are paying a lot of money to go to these games. People have the right to boo.

vanderbilts not 4-0

Thats the problem with some people they only look at what we have done against mid level teams. Not looking forward to the elite teams coming up and realizing that the offensive effort we have used againg the mid level teams is not going to work against the elite competition. This is the last week to fix the problem, if it does not get fixed we are in for a long year. If we win with this passing effort against the elite teams you will not hear as much bitching, but the chances of us winning is slim.

If the booing has made Joe look a little more into the product on the field, than is the booing considered a success? I personally think that if he has taken the time to write this letter, then he is much more aware of the faults of our coaching staff. It has hurt our national rep and that's not a good thing, but it has given reason for investigation which was the very point. To call notice to the job being done by coaches and the displeasure of the people who pay their salaries.

I agree with the gist of his message regarding the booing.

I do find it a bit hypocritical in a way ... the Athletic Director is the main ramrod to pushing corporate seating, rising prices, etc. that are pricing the average blue-collar LSU fan out of
Tiger Stadium.

Alleva's Athletic Department is eroding and destroying the atmosphere at Tiger Stadium a helluva lot more than fans booing.

The UGA crowd booed loudly during the Arky game there. Not defending the action, but it's not like LSU is the only place this happens.

This letter won't matter. Our a-hole fickle fanbase will be leaving the stadium at the begining of the 4th quarter regardless of the score.

Dear LSU Fans:

Even though YOU pay him a lot of money stop booing the employee who reports to ME.

Sincerely,
