For the record, after going up 14-0, we had 3, 3 n outs, 1, 4 n out (w/ Harris face mask), and 5 drives with more plays.....

The defense became worn out because we kept coming out with run, run, pass, punt. It started when we went 3 and out to open the half, the defense comes in and are on the field for what seemed most of the third quarter on Auburn's first possession of the half and then we came out and ran the same two exact plays into their 9/10 man front and then went 3 and out. That's how you wear out your own defense.

Incomplete passes also wear out the defense. On a running play the clock usually keeps running. On an incomplete pass it stops. Add in a few more of those and the D gets on the field faster. Not every pass is completed and not every completion results in a first down.

As everybody around here's hero used to say, "it is time to take the air out of the ball".

We punted the ball 9 times, the defense was gassed. They haven't played a full game in 8.5 months.

Defense went zone with 3 min left in 1st half. That's why dak started rolling. The zone coverage was likely based on having a nice lead and being in control of the game.

Steele better get used to playing with Miles. No lead is safe and he relies upon the D to completely determine the outcome of the game. No favors...

D-line looked gassed in second half and that was the difference in the way they played

This +10000

It was the first game, so I expected them to be a little winded. But, when they fully get into game shape, can you imagine that type of pressure ALL GAME LONG!!!

Woah!!!

honestly we went to a softer zone defense up big late, offense needed to run more clock. a large portion of Dak's yards came in the 4th. Less of an adjustment on MSU's part and more on our's.

Dak is is a senior and on the Heisman list for a reason and we won't see the likes of him again this season.

Until the playoffs, you mean. We won't see a QB of his caliber until we reach the Natty playoffs. Right!?!

I think this had as much to do with it as anything. We had some guys who had never played a complete college game, let alone one against a QB like Dak.

The rest have not had a real game in a while. Their stamina should improve if health remains good.

They were giving 8 yards and keeping everything in front. Praying for clock to hit zero

Like when Chavis blitzed against Bama and Yeldon scored on the screen in 2012.

Stop pretending like you know anything at all about football. Like how to coach it or play it.

There isn't a poster here, not a single one that know as much about football as Les Miles, Kevin Steele or Cam Cameron.

A bunch of guys sitting on couches thinking they know more than the coaches.

Coaches recruit these kids, know them, observe them in meetings, on the practice field, on film of practice, in games, on film of games. Yet everyone here knows better. Its laughable.

If Miles "opened it up" and Harris threw a couple picks the same idiots criticizing him would be screaming he should have just rode Fournette and protected Harris on the road.

Dumbasses.

People get on a college football message board and give opinions on coaching? That's wild.

And I guess because Curley Hallman saw the players more, we can't give an opinion about his career at LSU.

Kevin Steele went conservative just like his head coach told him. No pressure the entire 4th quarter. Rush 4, get carved. A recipe for a comeback. 3rd and Steele is here.

2 scores is not up big. This team showed in the 1st half it's true potential. This staff better wake up and get a clue or we are staring down 3-4 losses again.

How do you become "gassed in second half" when you are coming off a 1/2 time break and you are on the field bout 5 mins. of the 4th quarter?

We played one of the better QBs in the SEC. He will get his TDs this season. I think it was more the case of him just making plays than anything else. Well, that and us shooting ourselves in the foot with the freaking big penalties.

We played a soft zone with barely any blitzes the last half of the fourth quarter.

You are probably correct in that the Playoff teams will have good QB play. But in my opinion, of the other 3 teams who could make it there along with LSU, I don't see either of them being as good as Dak and that is not just SEC homer talk. He is a senior and as good as it gets this season at the college level.

21-6 is pretty big.

Forces them to score 2-3 times if they can't get a 2 point conversion, which they didn't.
