I have looked at previous 5 recruiting classes and I am baffled on why our qb situation is always one of doubt for our fan base. We have recruited pro style and dual threat but the one successful season recently was with a transfer, mettenburger. Here we
go: our pro styles Zach Lee, Hayden Rettig, Gunner Kiel(got no chest), Stephen rivers. My only thoughts on these are that Z.Lee may have been a good one if he would not have chosen baseball. The rest saw the writing on the wall les isn't giving them a chance if you can't run. TRANFER

Let's look at our dual threats: Randall, Shepard, Jennings, Harris, Bolden(#2 2011 ranked dual threat went to Penn st.).
Funny thing here is we knew Shepard wasn't play qb when we got him. Other notables in his class manzeil and mariotta turned out pretty good both were three stars. We all know that Jefferson and jarett Lee started this below average qb play but what is the root cause of this below average qb play that has cost us a couple national championships IMHO.I got one answer LES. I just wanted to discuss this here and not take it to the rant where I will be called a negatiger. What is the recruiting boards thoughts on why we get these highly regarded recruits and our qb play at the college level is sub par. Sorry if too long but

Well when you look at other teams like Ohio state and Alabama who seem to have stable qb's and a surplus over the same 5 years it just seems like we are just lacking. This is the problem I ask for people's honest opinion here and right on cue let's brush it under the rug or fuq you les is doing fantastic on the qb recruiting trail. Oh you funny guys

Sarcasm there

All you're doing is fishing for Les Miles bashing to justify your beliefs

Most everyone sees that, you'll catch a few that don't see what you're doing.

Someone should do a thread that compares the last ten years of hs qb recruits amoung lsu and the other top fifteen or so college programs.

Curious on your take of Les Miles and the "to hell with you" attitude of recruits that dont want to stay in La. I know you have been vocal about how its hypocritical in a sense to cheer for OOS recruits and damn in state ones that leave.

Well 2015 recruiting in the books we picked up the McMillan kid out of Texas

Wait we got Patterson and franks next year

Let the cycle continue. If we suck it up again this year at qb let's wait for the freshman next year. Am I right

Prom. You and I got at this a lot. I just think with the talent we have the qb position should be the main focus in recruiting. I mean it seems as if Ohio st. And bama do a ample job at it. Seems like here we go in another off season and man the sky is the limit 2016 wait....oh shite if we get good qb play? Seems like every year now except when metts was here.

Honestly if you look at the rivals site and pull up the last 5 years of both dual threat and pro style it is pretty interesting. Dual threats such as Bridgewater, mariotta, manziel have done pretty well.

Absolutely agree with him. If they don't want to stay in state, let them go. The LSU brand is too big now to say they have to stay within the borders of Louisiana. If one kid here doesn't want to stay, fill his spot with someone out of state that wants it. Louisiana kid's loss.

As for people clamoring for then to stay in school and killing Miles for "losing grip on Louisiana" (which is a joke), then let's look at not recruiting across the country and not landing Patrick Peterson, Adams, Paris, Garrett, Montgomery, Clark, Teuhema, Valentine and many more.

LSU can cherry pick OOS and people are happy, but lose one in state kid and rheyre lazy, outworkes, didn't offer early enough, losing grip on the atatestate

They've been losing grip on Louisiana for at least 7 years now. You would think by now, other colleges would already be here and raping the state and LSU would look like the 90s.

I have no answer. But I'd rather see an athletic Pro style QB as long as Cam's here. I don't see Cam as a master of the dual threat QB system.

My thoughts exactly but look at next years targets. I don't understand we got top notch rb's, OL, receivers. why DA fuq do we need a running qb?
