ware gets the hand off and attacks the line like it's a brick wall, not trying to make guys miss. Just 3yards and a pile of dust. KH is showing hershal walker type of ability. He doesn't shy away from contact but is also looking to break out

Watching the replay, it looked like Ware was used very similar to the Piere Thomas role for the Saints. Very good down-hill runner, good in pass protection, and came out of the backfield on routes several times.

Maybe we're just breaking tendencies with Ware.

Ware was a QB, he made the transition to bruising HB once at LSU. He has been successful at putting his head down and bulling out yards so that is what he prefers to do with the rock in his hand. In short he does what he knows what to do and what he feels he is good at. Hilliard is a true HB, he has played the position his whole football life. He is big and his leg strength is ridiculous, he has a pretty good eye for the cut back and just quick enough to make people miss. Hilliard runs smart but not afraid to bust you in the mouth when he needs too. I watched this kid in high school, after a fantastic Jr. season he let the LSU commitment buzz go to his head. He sucked as a Sr. and was not even the best RB on his team. I think he has been humbled at LSU and is now taking advantage to his opportunities. Hilliard will be a special Factor back in his tenure at LSU. Glad we got him!

Jefferson and Hilliard are better players than Lee and Ware. I don't think its that hard to comprehend breh.

Seems like ppl have a hard time coming to this realization.

Fresh legs/More productive YPC/Learned playbook.

We've seen it throughout the years under Miles where a young guy gets more and more playing time as he learns the playbook. Not a big surprise really.

He's not punishing like he did before Bama.

Ware had a collision with Robert Lester near the sideline that seemed to leave a piece of both players on the field.

Hilliard has the most upside of the RB's on the team IMO

Hillard still needs to mature. He made some bad choices Friday and was going East-West and got tackled pretty easily. When he made a quick North-South cut he does better.

Ware looks tenative in the hole and not running with the same violence. He runs mainly between the tackles so he is screwed when he stops. I have seen him hesitate more over the last few weeks.

We really need to see Blue get healthy as I think we will need to try Ware, Hillard (inside) and Blue, Ford (outside with speed option) against Bama.

Also, I thought JJ saw the zone read better than he had all season against Arky. Hopefully that continues as well.

This is how I would rank the backs.

Ford
Hillard
Blue
Ware
Magee

Hard to argue against this ranking

I agree with you there. He still has some work to do picking up the run-blitzes from the edge, but he looked very good on the reads Friday.

I noticed this as well, he is finally getting open on screens and dump offs. This is where he is most effective, especially when he is in pass protection and can sneak out much like richardson

Hillard was looking to leave if his playing time did not increase. He was upset his redshirt year was lost for a few carries early in the season. When Ware was suspened that gave Miles an opening to play him.

bullshite. Hilliard has been destroying people, he just bounces off and it's hard to see. Rewatch his TD run from saturday, Hilliard destroyed Jericho Nelson, I thought the dude broke his neck at first.

but he is bigger, faster, quicker, and has better vision than Ware

Hahahaha It would be pure comedy gold to bump some of the Hilliard recruiting thread when everyone was saying he was too fat and slow to play SEC ball. Dude had a bum ankle last year around this time.

I see ware as our third down back next year ala K Faulk with the Pats.

Great hands, good pass blocker and a little shiftiness.

Ware has been "nicked" as Les Miles would say. Should be rested up and ready to roll Jan. 9th. He's still our best all around back guys.

Ware seems to be too quick to give up on the intended hole. He cuts back behind the line too much.

I think Hilliard is getting more playing time because he is running the ball so well. He has earned his time, IMO.

Hilliard is a beast, one knock on him coming in was that he needed to trim a bit of weight and improve his quickness... he is running great, but it not hard hard to see where these small critiques could elevate his running to another level,, as well as a bit more experience.. He will be an epic RB before he leaves LSU.. Ford isnt done as well... Its a huge advantage to have 3 backs doing the work instead of 1
