Is it safe to say that the program is officially in decline?

i'd say so. Les Miles has been obviously out coached in almost every game this season most noticeably Washington, Miss State, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, and LA TECH!!! Derek Dooley out coached our coach!!!!!!! His only impressive performance was against Auburn. Was not impressive at all against Vandy or ULL.

What exactly does this guy bring to the table? What does he bring to the program, what is he good at? IMO nothing. He supposively knows alot about how to be an good offensive line coach. i don't see it. He doesn't do anything well and lots of things stupid. you can argue he's a good recruiter, but trevon reed(thibodaux) and james wright(belle chase) aren't coming. I know those are only 2 recruits, but their reasons for not coming is Les Miles. i know i wouldn't want my kid playing for les miles if he had the chance to play for a handful of other SEC schools.

Can u honestly sit through an LSU game now a days and not wonder what is this idiot doing?

I think LSU should be mentioned in the same sentence as Alabama and Florida, but we need a coach who can make that happen. Les Miles cannot do this for us. As of now I'd rather a handful of coaches over les miles in the SEC(meyer, saban, houston nutt, dan mullen, petrino, and kiffin). All the names i just mentioned would be running this program alot better than Les.

Face it guys he's not a legit coach quit convincing yourself that he is. Just watch the games and if you know anything about football i don't see why u wouldn't agree with me.

What Les Miles has accomplished:

1. A combined 51-14 record in five seasons

2. A bowl record of 4-0, all double-digit wins.

3. A National Championship

4. An SEC Championship

5. Two SEC West Championships

6. 3 Top 10 finishes in 4 seasons (with a shot to make it 4 of 5 pending bowl season).

7. All but one of his five recruiting classes ranked 11th or better. Three of those classes ranked in the top 5. Last year's class was arguably #1 and now worse than #2 depending on the service.

So to your original question

No. But I do think our fans have officially become the worst fans in America.

We have the exact same record as 2004 and probably going to the same bowl...which we will win. Last year LSU lost 5 games...this year LSU has lost 3, so by definition...no, LSU is not in decline.

Yep. All 9-3 ranked teams headed to a New Years Bowl are in decline.

It's THE LAW. Maybe one day we can get back to Shreveport Bowl. But one can only dream..

Not exactly. LSU was 9-2 (6-2 SEC) in 2004. LSU is 9-3 (5-3 SEC) in 2009.

What the F. That's funny. I dont think he is a great coach, but alot of good players have chose LSU because of him. He is doing something right. He would be great in a Bobby Bowden role.

We have a chance to go 10-3 - would that be better than 9-4 (albeit with SEC 5-3)?

With Saban we truly didn't know how the hell we would fare in the bowls - with miles it is as close to a lock as we can get.

11-2
11-2
12-2
8-5
9-3

Two more losses in the past two years than in his first three years combined? Last year we had the worst defense in the SEC and had to make a change, this year we have the worst offense in the SEC and have to make a change. We have gone 8-8 in the SEC the last two years without beating Ole Miss, Bama, or Florida.

Yep, all is fine.

2 posts and this is what you have to say?

Did you take notes on the other 100+ threads about Miles?

If you don't like the way the program is, I suggest you become a Tulane or something equally as poor.

Granted. Saban lost the bowl that season. It's reasonable to assume LSU would have finished 10-2 regular season with a cupcake OOC. So the difference is an SEC game - which Miles lost, and the bowl game- which Saban lost.

Yep. The Bowl Debacle against Iowa, the Blowout loss at Georgia & the loss to Auburn. All figure into the final rankings.

..and who could forget the gifted win over Alexis Serna's Oregon State team? Not sure I've ever seen a kicker miss 3 extra points before.
