Ah, maybe so. I replied before reading any of the responses. I assumed the downvotes were in response to Jennings. If not, my apologies.

Yes he was. Just like any other juco player. Are you under the assumption that Mett was forced to go to lsu?

Just imagine Mett is Mike Tyson here & he had a list of schools on the board. At least that's what he wants you believe

That's a football cycle. He came to LSU with some experience but he definitely improved while here.

But you still get more practice with a full year than you do during 5 months. I just find it laughable that posters think Mett was developed when he got here.

I am hopeful that Harris improves enough to start and that we are all glad he starts.

I have my doubts that Jennings can perform to the level I feel necessary.
His short passing game leaves a lot to be desired.
And he's not big or fast enough to be a huge threat as a runner.

Like everyone, I have no idea how they look in practice.

I was not all that impressed by the video of the pass to Chark.
He had all day to throw it. A real game would not be like that.

The good news is that LSU nearly beat Bama and Miss State even with Jennings as he was, not on target in the short and intermediate passing.

screw it...lets just see what happens. if the qb position is a disaster again this year then something will have to happen. someone will lose thier job and it may be les but i highly doubt it. however, "hot seat" wouldnt even describe the amount of heat miles would be under if we have a recurrence of that piss poor bs lsu offense we witnessed last year. it would be more like les' seat was a frickin volcano thats about to explode. let see what happens thats all we can do. i do have a little optimism, albeit unwarranted, which sprouts from me hoping our qbs improve bc they were young last year. please Jesus let me be right.

I'd say that GOAT pass to Byrd vs AU had a lot to do with it. He didn't have a great year, but had the third highest passing total in the past 9 years. Mett had the other two. He was definitely better than JJ or Lee.

Flynn was definitely better than Lee and JJ, but he also had Jimbo Fisher as a QB coach for 4 years. IMO, Flynn was a slightly above average player on a great team. 56 completion %, 2400 pass yards, 6.7 ypa, 21 TDs 11 ints. He also added 215 and 4 TDs on 100 carries. I don't think he was all that talented, (sorta like Jennings) but he was coached up.

I mean shite Jennings can reach those stats with some improvement. People acting like it's hopeless or something.

Oh, I don't think anyone will be the least upset if Jennings improves dramatically and leads LSU to the national championship. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing that.

This reminds me of the Blake Sims/Jake Coker debate last year that went until Sims started putting on a show (by the end of week 3). They'll hate Jennings now, but if he looks good early, it's going to be a bunch of people doing 180s.

I totally buy that Jennings has gone from displaying the passing skills of a JV QB that struggled to even get 100 yds passing a game, has suddenly become an 80+ completion %, multi TD throwing QB machine

Aren't you in some special privileged club? Why haven't you been to a scrimmage to see first hand?

It's a win win imo. Harris will improve our offense a great deal but if Jennings remains the starter we will bitch and moan all season as we lose 3 plus games. Les will probably be on his way Out.

I have never had less confidence in a QB that starts at any level. The green shirts in practice are prohibitive in assessing AJ's progress. We already knew that he could execute a good run and handoff, and that he follows the rules of the coaches well, and that he does well when he is wearing that protective green jersey.

A smart 5 year old girl who plays with barbie dolls and goes to the games to play in the parking lot knows how bad our QB play has been. It is that obvious.

Les would have to go 6-6 to have a chance of his seat being warm IMO

7 would do it based on the cumulative frustration and under-achievement in 2014.

8 wins assures he stays. All he has to do is win 8 every year and he stays as long as he wants to.
