I'm not sure about that. Can you think of anyone with a better CV than Cameron that we could bring in? Also considering how close he is to Miles, I don't think this is as simple as firing him and moving on.

I think Cameron and Miles are tied together, and also believe that Sumlin and Chavis are tied together. A failure by the coordinator represents a failure by the HC.

Im on that boat too. If we dont seriously challenge for the west title we need to make changes at the very top. We wont but we would need to.

That could be true as Miles doesn't appear to be the type guy who only lives to coach. I have been thinking for a while now that this might well be his last HC contract, but as you said..."We'll see".

So you would still support him after a 6-6 season???? Wit or without a bowl win......

Sumlin was on the hot seat based on declining results... Tied directly to ineptitude in his defense. So aTm opened up the checkbook and he hired one of the most respected DCs in the game. If Sumlin can't field a respectable defense with Chavis and win a division title, then he can't win a division title.

Sumlin will live and die by this DC hire.

I just find it laughable that posters think Mett was developed when he got here.

He had skill and raw talent. He wasn't developed, but he had something to work with. What does AJ have to work with?

Ok. Highly respected... But YOU and most on here turned on him after he left and said he sucked as a DC and even worse some have said he should have been fired... Funny how YOU can turn on a coach once he leaves.... So which is it... Is Chavis good r not????

You know what I meant. As far as his own skills, what does he have to work with?

Chavis is as good as his talent level. He did just fine from 2009-10, very well in 2011-12, and terrible from 2013-14.

Only once did he field a defense on par with what Bo Pelini put out on the regular.

He will fall on his face at aTm with their limitations on that side of the ball and Sumlin's offensive style.

Again, all guys with raw talent to begin with. Anthony Jennings has no physical talent. And I don't think it'll just show up after an offseason.

Eh. Cam has almost exclusively been an NFL OC since his Michigan days. As a player, you can't get there without raw talent.

And I don't think Jennings will be requesting his draft grade any time soon, either. He's not a gunslinger. Just put the ball in a spot where the WR can make the first guy miss.

Mett was already developed.. He just fit into Cam's offense... But since Cam hasn't done crap with a qb at LSU..........
