It's a very fluid narrative to say the least. Usually when it's this fluid usually means the ones supporting the O relative narratives are losing ground. The depth issues it's a duel blame to a certain extent but I put more of it on 0. LSU was ranked #6 on team talent rankings going into the 2017 season by 24/7. Granted there was some injuries but relatively speaking that is still strong. I give credit for O being a good recruiter which he is but also hold him accountable for the team depth issue. You cannot give him credit for recruiting but not hold him accountable for the now team depth issue to support your narrative. I particularly blame O for the 5 offensive lineman.

Now the narrative has transitioned over to now it's a rebuilding effort. I am afraid that what will be the default excuse if the 2017 continues to go South. It's not just one game. O is 2-3 in the last 5 SEC games. I think the rebuilding narrative was a way to give O back some instant equity while trying to save face. The discipline issues I blame the entire staff, but O in particular.

The buyout clause essentially only factors in 3 seasons. 1/19 the buyout goes to $6 million. The final year is only a $1 million. So theoretically it's really just a 3 year deal. If things don't turn around by the end of next season, he is gone. Alleva and King screwed LSU over with this buyout

I'm not sure what we as fans were really expecting this year. Sure we have talented players. We absolutely have a good staff.

We also have an extremely young group of players who simply choked against a strong MSU team at their house.

Most of us knew that this would be a year for developing the future. We are playing freshmen for a reason. This is not the end of the world. This is how young men are hardened.

We will now get to see how this program responds to a very hard lesson to swallow. If they aren't up for the challenge, then so be it. Who the hell wants to win every game anyway. There is absolutely no fun in that.

Why did they leave?

There was a graphic shown that we signed 27 OL, DL, and WR in the 2015 and 2016 classes and only 11 are still on the roster. These are players that would be rs sophomores, juniors, and seniors (upperclassmen). While orgeron certainly does deserve blame for a 30 point loss, people need to realize this was always going to be a rebuilding year regardless of who was coaching Saturday night.

I hope this is sarcasm.

5 years is enough to completely tank this program for the next 25 years

Shhhh the LSU fanbase is becoming self aware. Many were not privvy to the fact that weve been mediocre for 5 years now.

My thoughts exactly.

No, I don't see it that way. Mediocre is a 6-6 season. LSU is not mediocre.

I guess that I just enjoy the journey just as much as the destination. Basically, I have always preferred the role of giant killer over being the giant. I like the challenge.

The posters on this board who are crying and crapping their pants are pathetic to me. It's like they've forgotten what this game is about. How many times have coaches commented about their team getting punched in the face and returning the favor in kind?

I have a feeling that this team is learning to do just that. At least I hope so.

All we heard prior to the season was anyone could win with this talent then after MSU, to hell in a hand basket.

Not true. The O-line, D-line depth, receiver and QB were all spots people were worried about and voiced it plenty on this sight. Many were optimistic because thats what football fans do but to say 'all you heard was how perfect the team was' prior to the season is a flat out lie.

Nothing short of excuses for an embarrassing beat down.
No reason LSU should not win at least 8 games this season.

Anybody else want that deal? IF I completely screw up your billion dollar program, I still walk with millions and never have to work again in life. Freaking college and pro sports are starting to look like Wall Street and Corporate America - steal and get caught then Golden Parachute with no consequences.
