I keep seeing this all over. So last Saturday was the result of lack of talent/ Les Miles recruiting.

Did Les leave a perfect roster? Absolutely not but most teams also have holes in their rosters as well, LSU isn't the only one.

All we heard prior to the season was anyone could win with this talent then after MSU, to hell in a hand basket.

The last three classes all ranked in the top 10. People were giving Coach O credit for a lot of our successful classes as he should, hes a good recruiter.

Now all of a sudden he isn't responsible for the roster deficiencies and its on Les?

7 Lineman, 5 offensive, 2 defensive, left the team after O was hired. Then I see it blamed on Les. How is that his fault?

The goal posts keep shifting back and forth, and the narratives keep changing. I just don't get it

I'm just gonna root for LSU to win the rest of their games.

It isn't shifting any which way.

We have to give Ed 4-5 yrs. If no playoff appearances by then, it's time to move on.

4-5 years? If he can't correct this proram within two years it needs to be done. LSU isn't a dweller program. LSU already has the talent and "elite coordinators". LSU will lose a lot of money if we wait 4-5 years

But then we'd have to keep O.

I believe Miles could have took the same roster O did and the game would have been a close loss or a win.

Just my opinion.

I want O to win national titles every year,

Do I think it will happen? No but I hope he does

No!!! If he had a modern offense. He would be an ok coach. He didn't and we started to be average because of it.

As are all of us. Some of us just have huge concerns about the product being put on the field after last Saturday's fiasco.

Agreed.

We don't have a lot of depth on OL. But that has been a non-issue thus far because no OL have been hurt.

We are thin at DL. We have an entire unit out (Lawrence, Alexander, and Herron). That's a legit factor. But this means I need to slow the game down and keep them off the field as much as I can. This is where O has to integrate the overall game plan, not just let Canada do his thing.

I say we keep O along as each year is an improvement over the previous year up to the point where we are winning at least 10 games a year. Anything less than 10 wins a year at LSU is a failure year.

There are not many courses of action in our current situation. Whether you blame O or Miles for the roster issues, the fact is they are there and he is 3 games in.

There is nothing to do but to a) recognize there are issues with depth, and b) root for the Tigers.

We should see a steadily improving team as the season progresses. If we don't, there is a coaching issue. But I remember Dabo Swinney losing by like 70 in an Orange Bowl a while back, and Jimbo (whom this fan base adores) losing by 40 to a team we trounced last year (with O at the helm).

Forgive me for not using one game as the final verdict on a coach.

Total BS. You'll know mid way through year 3 whether he needs to go or not, if not sooner.

issues with depth,

This is being blown out of proportion.

Had we been competitive with State for say 2.5-3 qtrs only to be gassed in the 4th then it would be fair to say there was a DL depth issue. But we got thumped pretty much the whole game.

I don't think our program can withstand 4-5 years of Coach O. By that time, we'll be back to the way we were in 1999 at the end of the Dinardo era or perhaps even worse than that.

This is true. But it's also slightly misleading. I'm not taking a side or making an argument for or against the depth issues at certain position groups, being the fault of either Miles or Orgeron.

But those top ten rankings are based on overall player ratings according to evaluation services. They do not rank our recruiting classes by how many "positions of need" that we filled.

Remember not long ago when the Chief left our cupboard completely bare at linebacker? Orgeron has definitely helped to fix that. And now for multiple reasons including academic I eligibility, transfers, injuries and suspensions, we find ourselves thin along both lines. And this too, unfortunately, will take time to fix. Two cycles down the road, if we have any position deficiencies, then something has gone monumentally wrong.
