Jj didn't play lights out or anything but he helped us win. That's it.

Yet he was given the keys to the kingdom for the reat of the season, and shut down our passing game.

We knew it (well some of us), UGA knew it, Bama knew it, and on 1/9 the whole world knew it.

Back to the OP. Les killed his own offense because he plays scared. That fear translates to his offense. He needs a timeout, to allow a professional to fix it

Without doubt. Too stubborn though.

He should have been replaced in that SEC title game. No question. Definitely agree. He also should have been replaced in the BCS game at least just to see if lee could get something going. So I'll definitely agree those were two stubborn moments and one that ultimately ended up hurting the most on 1/9. My personal feelings are that it wouldn't have mattered who the qb was but we should have tried something different.

JJ and Lee were guys that should have been platooned, not featured. Sad thing is most people outside of the LSU program new this.

Outside the ending of the Arkansas game, and possibly the last part of the SEC game ...fairness doesn't really play a part in the thing. It's more about what is better for the team.

Hell, it could have backfired and been worse...who knows.. but you have to give your team at least a hint of an idea that you are trying.

At this point he needs to learn to release some of this power and trust a real offensive coordinator to run the offense. If not, the team isn't going to sink but isn't going to reach it's potential either.

Most of us want him to be as good as he can be, the program as good as it can get and him to retire a legend. I think his unwillingness to release some control of the offense is a barrier.

I've always meant to ask. Do you get paid by post, or just a flat fee?

I still have faith in the guy. When you do something a long time you can get set in your ways but while he may be stubborn, he doesn't have the ego of Saban and may be willing to work on the offense.

i dont know if we can compare this past season with the jj/lee era,and i agree that made clm gun shy...i think we now have a qb who did a pretty good job as a first year starter with young wide recievers....but i think the players have to exacute the plays that are called and i believe we will see a diffrent offense next season with a better o line and more experianced qb and recievers.

I have never read so much fail in a thread than I did in this one. Seriously the positigers are delusional. Y'all have basically stated that our head coach has gone into a shell because of how a freshmen QB performed. That one guy has completely changed how he views running an offense AND it still impacts his coaching philosophy. It is absurd to even entertain that.

JL made miles lose his "want" to open up the offense

Miles is suffering from PTJLS

JJ had a pretty decent game vs Hogs and brought the mobile QB element.

Good second half. Everyone was looking for him to be pulled after the first quarter but Miles stuck with him. It was all downhill from there.

JJ completed 65% vs bama with the botched shuttle pass for INT.
The checks and play calls weren't the best, but I don't see Lee doing better with the OL play on 1-9, considering he had better protection on 11-5.
Just how I saw plays developing with Lee hypothetically inserted 1-9.

He had a horrible game. The whole offense did. LSU picked up a few yards late in the 3rd and 4th when it was out of reach.

Maybe, maybe not but at some point you have to try. If if doesn't work you haven't lost anything but showed the players and fans you were trying.

I'm more shocked a change wasn't made in the SECCG than the NCG. It was as bad a game for JJ as most of his games in 2010.

I don't get why it matters whether Miles is scared or stubborn or clueless or anything.
quote:

We were pretty bad on offense now for 5 straight years. I don't really care why. It still boils down to Les Miles. Why, because he is in charge.
He is the only one that can fix it. Would you be getting raises on your job if it took you 5 years to fix a part of your business that performed in the bottom half of the industry.

Isn't this all that really matters? ...and the fact that as of now, nothing is truly being adjusted to fix it...

I am happy for all of you that feel like you've had a psychological breakthrough with Miles and that it somehow makes you feel better.
