Why has LSU not pulled this guy's credentials yet?
I'd NEVER EVER suggest that even LSU beat writers need to be pro-LSU all the time. But Guilbeau rests under the assumption that it's his job to be caustic towards and about LSU. There may be a job for someone like that, but it's certainly not the job of the LSU beat writer for Gannet News.

When I read it I knew the dipfricks in the media would use it for months. Other coaches might use it for years against les.

I agree with what he said and I don't give an "F", if they are recruiting a guy from Alaska. If LSU wants them and they don't come "THE HELL WITH THEM".
If a coach felt any differently he should be fired because he is a pussy. What's he supposed to do - whine, cry, beg. The only players a coach should be concerned or care about are the players who sign with their team and family. F-em

I was there and really had no problem with it....but 5 seconds after it happened I told my buddy it would be a shitstorm. Les could have made his life a lot easier by not saying it.

Yeah, you're right. He should have said something along the lines of "we wish we had them. They are much better than the guys we signed. Them not coming to LSU will set this program back for years. I will lose sleep for months because he didn't come to LSU. I should fire my whole staff for not getting him. Hopefully, later on he will decide to transfer here and get us back on track."

At the Bash a few years back, Miles said that a certain QB didn't have the "chest" to play at LSU. That comment has backfired BIGTIME. Les needs to know when to shut up. Might make for good press but lately it backfires on him. Apparently we don't have a QB with the chest either Leslie.

The media are so starved for content it is hilarious. They need content to stir things up to fill the schedule and for ratings to compete in a saturated sports media market. They look for anything to yank the chain of the listening audience, and guess what...it works for them most of the time, and this is one of those times. Move on.
