It's tough to imagine when either one will put together a national title team again. Both just seemed like they are passed up by better coaches, Miles would be obvious on this one (he's not in Meyer's or Saban's league)...meanwhile Mainieri is at least close with guys like Corbin...O'Sullivan is a guy to worry about for him. Corbin has a machine going over there now bringing in like 5 or 6 Top 100 players. Ray Tanner is gone at least.

If Mainieri cant win a natty with this team when is the next time we even have a chance? 2017?

I wonder how many of the pumpers who say negatigers are spoiled assholes who don't know shite and have no respect for coaches bitch about the leader of our great country and blame Obama for their shitty lives.

They are hypocrites and are too stupid to realize it.

I sense the same old argument brewing. A long time ago we sucked so any success no matter how small should be appreciated vs. we no longer suck and want championships bc we are capable of it. Blah blah blah

Both are excellent recruiters and get great players and then underachieve.

Wait. So playing in Omaha in the CWS is underachieving? Only 8 teams make it but we've underachieved? We are playing where every program aims for but still...,we've underachieved? Interesting.

Oh, so only winning more championships than any other program is now the bar of acceptability? Then all programs are failures.

And both will get a raise and an extension. I don't understand why people put up with being okay with the want to compete, as Les would put it. We should have the want to win, not just compete. All starts with the AD. Get rid of him and then start looking at the coaches. Too bad it is all about the money, so as long as money is coming in, no way in hell anyone is replaced. Yes I realize it can be worse, but we should be winning championships, not just happy to be there.

Any coach that has accomplished what PM did this year should get a raise and an extension.

The "want to win"? We've won 50 games.
And last I checked, we won an SEC reg season championship. A regional championship. A SR championship.

Both have a sort of weird/kooky factor that is oddly alluring.

The OP's post is why the rant is the rant...

Miles makes 1-2 'gaffs' a year and he gets crucified. Meanwhile, Maineri coaches all year long like he read about it in a kid's 'How To' book, with no thought process about what is actually taking place in the game. The entire "they have lefties, I have a left handed pitcher - start my left handed pitcher!" stupidity is a prime example of that.

Les might screw up but Maineri is a screw up as a baseball coach. He has no baseball IQ (which is why so many here defend him).
