Les didn't do shite but get a powerhouse handed over.

This is the team LES Miles inherited: 2004 – LSU finished the season 9–3, after losing to the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Capital One Bowl 30–25 on a final play touchdown pass. Other losses that season were on the road at Auburn 10–9, and a loss on the road to Georgia 45–16.

This is the reality of what Les Miles inherited: An LSU home game and Les Miles' first as head coach at LSU was moved to Arizona State's Sun Devil Stadium due to the effects of Hurricane Katrina....followed by an 11 game schedule without a bye week (Sep 10 thru Dec 3)

I agree Les Miles was handed to much for him to handle. The job should have went to Jimbo Fisher.

You must has misread what I posted....people think CLM was handed an invincible football team in 2005. My point was that even the "builder" of that team lost 3 games coming off a NC season.

NO! JIMBO should not have been given the LSU job. I like Jimbo, but he was not prepared to be the HC of a major program at that point in time.

look it's not uncommon to have a Championship hangover, we see this all the time and Satan himself said that was one of the most important lessons he learned. In 2006 when Fisher left and took the Fla St Job when asked about LSU he replied by far the most talented team in the Country and told them we would have beat Auburn by 3 TDs if Mile's hadn't taken the play calling away at halftime. Miles is a nice man but an Avg Coach. If he would just stay home on game day we'd have at least 3 more NC's

And we wonder why recruits leave the state?

Unless he is just yanking our chain like a good little troll, folks like this vjm41 (and the rest of the critics on this board) are actually trying to tear the program down so it can be rebuilt to suit their ignorant desires (ie no Miles). Where do you idiots get off? Stop trying to pull our Tigers down, just go pull for Texas.

PLEASE go pull for Texas!

Come on Miles was handed a stacked deck. Consensus top 3 recruiting classes 2001,2003,2004. J Russle, Laron Landry, Dwayne Bowe, C Davis under Miles all were drafted in the first Round, this is more than Ohio St, Fla Gators & USC combined that year. With guys like G Dorsey,Tyson Jackson,Early Doucet and Will Arnold , J Addai, Ect,Ect ect. Excuses is a losers alibi. No more excuses. It's sad to see when fans become satisfied with mediocrity.// Exam; While Miles was spending time and resources to go out of State for a WR,I will leave nameless, Saban was here offering a top 100 Prospect(WR) that was good friends with 2 other elite player from La, So Miles got his out of state Wr, Saban got Cam Sims, Cam Robinson & Hootie Jones, but you guys think that's ok. Well that's why we usually lose 2-4 games a year cause the bar has been lowered and that satisfies enough of the fan base and administration. while the J Fishers of the world strive for perfection

Must have been what he was doing. The dude is definitely an alter here just to stir shite. I'd be done arguing with him if I were you, unless he posts some obvious mistakes like Saban being here for five years but magically only coaching for four of those years.

Sorry bout that, I was thinking that Dinardo had gotten fired at the end of 2000, and When Saban was hired he spent that time Recruiting and 01 was his first year coaching.

There have been many coaches that turned a program around and after 4-5 years left to see the program back in the shitter 4-5 years later. I dont care who u are, there is just so much u can accomplish in only 5 years at a place. And btw string out the administration as long as u can and then leave abruptly in the beginning of January and leave LSU hanging to get a coach and keep their recruits. U get credit for that as well. We couldve had Spurrier and possibly Meyer if Saban hade been forthright. He gets credit for turning the program around but not for maintaining it. Cooper handing Tressel a gold mine. Parseghian handing Faust the gig.
Stallings to Shula. Pete Carrol to Lane Kiffin. Osborne to Solich. Now we will watch the Oregon and Vanderbilt declines.

Go ahead, stay ignorant
I guess by your calculation David Shaw is an average coach as well.

So tell me, other than Fisher who would u have hired 9 yrs ago?

Ignorant is putting Miles in the Same class with Spurrier, Meyer,I'll give you this, he can drop the F bomb with the best of them on public stages, even with his wife and children in attendance, nobody has done that better

I didnt put Miles in the same category as meyer.
Miles says the F bomb once, your guy quit on his team, his contract and lied about an illness to get out of the SEC arena. U couldnt get him back to SEC with a crowbar and 10 million a year.

But Im done with this thread, just so u know.

Have a Good fricking Day!

No, if you want to see real pain, you should go look at what was here before Dinardo.
Dinardo started well, but could not sustain the program.
Saban got some good guys from Dinardo, added a number 1 recruiting class and turned that into a crystal ball.
Miles started off in much better shape, but we did not win anything in Saban's last year for a reason. He has sustained the program extremely well. No getting around the fact that Alabama has won 3 NC in the last 5 years, but there are very few programs who have done better than LSU in the last 5 years.

And To this day Miles has still not recruited and won a National Championship.

It's interesting that you see Miles not recruiting and winning a NC at LSU cause there were Saban recruited players on the 07 team while you do see Saban recruiting and winning a NC even though there was GN recruited players on his 03 NC team.

I'm not sure what logic leads you to that thought process, but I'm pretty sure it's not a very sound conclusion.

But don't let me stop you from trying to find some way to discredit the most successful HC in LSU history and one of the very most successful in the game for the past 9 yrs.
