All this talk about Fournette and McCaffrey skipping their respective bowls to avoid injury.

I don't think Fournette is skipping the bowl to avoid injury. He is trying to fully heal from a nasty ankle injury that occurred in August. There was even talk about surgery.

MCaffrey is not injured and is truly skipping his bowl to avoid injury. Fournette should not be lumped into the same discussion.

College Football media are biased. It's should not be a surprise.

I don't think I've seen anyone hating on Leonard who wasn't associated with CFB.

Nah, we haven't hit our rant limit of 100 post on one subject yet. We have another 25 or so to go over the next week or two so the dumbasses can show up to bash LF.

Since when do you remember the media using the facts to fabricate a story?

I think the "perception" in the media is that he is indeed able to play, but is milking this injury for all its worth.

I heard someone on Fox Sports Radio speaking about Fournette, saying, "He was supposedly too injured to play in the Florida game, then got into a fight with a Florida assistant coach, then all of a sudden wants to play in the game so he does."

You live with the decisions you make. He is learning this now.

Who cares

I'm sure neither player does.
Both about to get paid.

It's the media just using them to stir up controversy and get a headline. Most of them are just talking heads.

Even this isn't fair. McCaffrey leads the nation in touches for the last two years at 672 not including his returns. Only two other power 5 players had 550. Let him save his body

I don't care about him skipping the game. It's in his best interest and I understand that. I wanna know why he skipped the team banquet.

Exactly. He's done his part for Stanford. If they were in the playoff, he'd be ready to go

There's nothing about that statement that's untrue. However, if said idiot actually watched the game, they would have known that LF had no business being on the field. He was maybe 65%. He made a bad decision, but that doesn't mean he wasn't really affected by the injury. Any fool watching that game could see that he was.

The coaching staff could have saved everyone all this drama by coming out before him and just saying that they were shutting him down due to injury. I don't blame them for not doing it, because it is out of the ordinary to make a public statement like that well before a bowl game. However, it would have prevented all this. I don't think either the staff or LF expected this much of a backlash over it, or that other players would follow suit.

And I certainly don't blame LF for his decision. He's been hurt since pre-season camp. He hasn't been right the entire year. He shouldn't be playing this game.

That being said, I will have a problem when the first "playoff team" player decides to bail. You know it'll happen at some point

The media is missing out on their cash cow. They need these star players to play to increase ratings and revenue. That is the main reason for the media to disparage these players and try to drive down their stock in the draft. Big business is getting nervous the help is rebelling.

Leonard has been an incredible running back and ambassador for LSU up until this point. I also believe he will go on to do great things in the NFL and represent LSU very well.

Having said that, all you grown arse man slobbering on his cock have to stop. Yes, he is not playing in the bowl game to avoid injury and that is fine because he's been hurt all season. However, there is no reasonable fricking excuse whatsoever to not make the trip with your team and be there to support them. even if he is there sitting on the sideline in fricking sweat pants, he should be there with his team.

All you guys making excuses for him not to be there to support his team are just being blatant homers. Imagine if this was a player from another SEC team. We would be shitting on that player nonstop.

He did and he was too injured to play.

The media needs something to fill their time. If the facts don't fit their narrative they spin or distort the situation. It's nothing new.

If you want to help stop the bullshite, punch a "journalist" in the face the next time you see one.

They talk about this nonsense before every bowl and laud those that are playing during the game as to put down those that chose not too.

It's just another in a long line of things that sports media will blow out of proportion then be completely forgotten in 2 years.

Want an example? Nobody cares that Michael Sam is gay or that Manti T'eo's girlfriend was fake. And both of those "stories" were way bigger than this one.

No one takes sports "journalism" seriously anymore because they don't even take themselves seriously anymore. If they did, you would see a deeper discussion on this than what you're seeing, and it would involve questioning the relationships and interaction of players, college teams, agents, bowls, and the NFL. But no one wants to rock the boat there. They all live off the same hog. Media included.
