You saw what Gordon did in the first 1/2 and some change right?

LF suffered a little bit due to his teammates lack of execution. However, he missed a couple of golden opportunities by not being patient and following his blocks, plunging head-long into defenders, when he could have possibly juked and gone around them. All mistakes that will be corrected, given the history of this coaching staff. Magee struggles as well, more from the missed blocking assignments than anything else. The running game will be fine and I still think they'll wind up averaging over 200 ypg on the ground.

You are correct.
Look at the runs of the top running backs over the weekend. Gurley from Georgia is a good example. No one touched him on some of his long runs.
Once LF gets some blocking and gets his timing, he will be one of the better backs.

Okay since apparently all you idiots see is that I called myself an athlete. I should've said that I WAS an athlete when I was younger

I wasn't buying into the completely overblown hype that LF was getting, but I did expect little more than what was shown against Wisconsin. As an athlete myself, I know that jumping from one level to the next is extremely difficult, but he was looking freakish in camp. I wasn't expecting a 200 yard game without being tackled once like the hype train projected, but I was a little disappointed with 8 for 18 or whatever he got. Hopefully these games against SHS and ULM will get him up to speed for Miss. St.

You have to put your personal in the right conditions for them to succeed. No running back would have during the time LF had. the option was a joke with 9 men in the box.

I'm kind of glad he didn't light up the world versus WI. Felt like his larger than life hype might lead to over-use of this true Freshman and that could lead to an early injury that might cast a pall on the rest of his very promising football career at LSU and the pros. A few games to get himself used to the college/SEC level of play will pay dividends in his maturation and skill development. We'll see more from LF as the season progresses.

So, at the end of the 3rd quarter...

LF had 7 carries for 24 yds

Hilliard 7 carries for 15 yds

To further illustrate the point, Magee finished with 6 carries for 10 yds.

NOBODY did anything in the first 3 quarters. Had Fournette been in the game when we went 3 wide and a single back set like Hilliard, rushing against a nickel defense, HE would've had 110 yds and a TD and we'd be saying he's worth all the hype.

Playing club tiddlywinks does not qualify you as an athlete.

LF and McGee would have had the same yards as kW if they where in for that fourth quarter. The wisky D was done

There were some terrible play calls on his first few touches...................he also wasn't getting any help from the Oline.

As stated.....AP couldn't have run thru the defenders in front of LF in the first half.

I still expect big things from this kid............

Big time. Hilliard ran to the house completely untouched. Once that front line starts breaking down, you better hope your secondary can make the tackles. They just couldn't hold up.
