i think simmons either had an and 1 or the guy got two shots when he kicked his leg out into him. i thought that was supposed to be a point of emphasis.

Bottom line is a foul heavy game was always going to favor Carolina. I was kinda shocked we were still close halfway through the second half.

Referees who take games over like that really are the worst.

I agree but at some point you have to blame the players/coaches. They should adjust to the tight whistle. It was even for both teams. I will even say I think LSU got away with a few.

Did you watch that play? He literally didn't touch him.
His entire back was up against Carrera and he was backing into him.

Quarterman and Hornsby each had another and 1 called on them on drives to the goal where they were backing up the whole time with 1 hand straight up.
Please. Quarterman was grabbing and shoving on that drive. Worse yet, TQ committed a horrible foul 40 feet from the basket on a guy just dribbling the ball. Don''t remember the Hornsby and 1.

The key sequence in the game was when Simmons fouled the jump shooting freshman and then there was a bad turnover at halfcourt between TQ and Simmons leading to a layup.

Two of Simmon's fouls were on jump shooters and one was an offensive foul in the first half.

"defend without fouling"

trouble is we struggle to guard in normal situations. victor is getting better at defending straight up but it's tough to hold up for 30+ minutes when the game is called like that

Epps and Bridgewater really played hard in that stretch, especially on defense.

the charge was clearly a block and one of his fouls on the jump shooter got called because he kicked his leg out.

We obviously wont agree and it wasnt completely one sided but it was pretty one sided.

half of carolina's offensive rebounds came because they went straight through our players backs who had position. It was unreal how they refused to call it, yet on the other end carolina is getting phantom and 1 calls.

How many games are we going to blame the officiating for? Other teams can hit FT's, we can't. Plain and simple.

I would imagine games where they are to blame. This game and the Georgia game stand out vividly.

This contributed to the loss no doubt. Just because someone brings up the horrible officiating doesnt mean they don't think the FT shooting had nothing to do with the loss.

Just think it's ridiculous to even bring up college basketball officiating anymore because everyone in the country knows they suck. From the SEC, to the ACC, to the BIG10; everyone knows they all suck. It's just an excuse for another loss, IMO.

South Carolina then went 7 straight possessions scoring, amassing 17 points.

I may be getting my sequences mixed up, but is this when we went to the 2-3 or went back to man and USC started the dribble handoff?

yeah this is why I wasn't too upset with the loss. If anything they showed they can battle through some serious adversity.

The second foul on Victor in the first half wasn't on him.
I'm pretty sure they called the foul on AB. Victor wasn't even close to the play, yet got the foul.

If someone can rewatch that shitfest, I'd be interested to know if I saw that correctly.

Foul calls definitely dictated that game. I still think missed FT's were the deciding factor. Well that and our PG's playing terrible.

Also, SC gets some credit. Whether the and 1's were legit or not, they made some plays. Dozier hit some really tough shots.

JJ should've sat him down for a bit.

Yeah, I actually saw some ball movement and back door cuts there for a good bit of the second half.

We went to the 2-3 just a litle before it started, after a timeout. It worked well, and was a smart defensive move, b/c we caught them off guard with it at first. We just stayed in it way too long. We stopped them on 3 of the first 4 possessions in the 2-3. then they got their shite together and starting running good offense and were getting whatever they wanted, and weren't missing.

I saw what you saw. They never showed the replay for whatever reason but i had no idea how they decided Victor fouled that guy.
