College is to get you an opportunity. Keiland has that opportunity. If he doesn't make it, it's no one's fault but his. Sure, he may have given up some money on the front end, but if he makes it, he will get that back. He has very little wear and tear on his body. If he can prove he's an NFL back, then it will all work out for him.

Let's put this old debate to bed. There are tons of NFL starters that were undrafted or late-rounders, including Tom Brady. It happens.

this is just dumb. what you are saying is charles scott and hester should not have played as much. i don't think they were to bad at lsu. i guess you feel it's ok to hose them.

Matt cassel sat behind matt l., M.C. is starting for K.c. i guess he got hosed.

i here from this board miles plays seniority. yet, when a true frosh gets playing time over a r.s. frosh, the r.s. frosh is getting hosed.

please apply for the head coaching job at lsu so you get to play who you want.

he completely hosed Flynn too who is one of the top #2's in the NFL, and a Rogers injury away from being a starter...meanwhile Les had Flynn stuck behind an NFL flop for 3 years

"the ford saga is a strange one, esp b/c blue seems to only be adequate at blocking and he's fumbled at least twice"

This is the part that I don't get, AND isn't Blue a true frosh which cuts agains the supposed "Miles favors seniority" angle? If Miles was really so down on KW for fumbling (presumably in practice), then how does Blue get a pass for putting on the ground in games?

hey, I have nothing against Blue, but I have somewhat bought into the Ford hype because people I know and pretty much trust in terms of spotting talent were crazy high on him when they saw him play at Leesville.

kw fumbling in practice is a largely rant myth...

blue's fumble was his last carry, so we'll see what the rotation looks like this week...

my suspicion is that the Ford issue is non-football related

Terrible, terrible comparison. No one ever, ever though cassel should start over leinart. No one ever said, "boy, I sure would like to see what that cassel kid could do with more snaps"

I, like many LSU fans and analysts, were begging to see more Keiland and thought he could have done just as well, if not better, than Hester and scott

Unless Ford gets some playing time this year, he may never see the field at LSU in full-time action. I would imagine that Ridley would still be the #1 next year, with Blue still behind him. By the time Ridley graduates, Ford will be a RS Junior battling for playing time with Blue, who would be a junior with ample experience, and Hill/Hilliard who will be RS Frosh or Sophomores.

I would not be surprised if Ford, Blue, Gore and co. see the writing on the wall and 1 or 2 transfer. I do not include Ware in that because I think he will find a role much like Hester was used.

Keiland Williams hype didn't begin in 2006. It began just like RS's began, when he was one of the top recruits in the country and a 5 star RB he was 1 or 2 in his position then.

I heard Tom Brady didnt start much in college, he starts alot in the NFL, Im sure there are many many examples of this happening. The truth is, I don't know enough , and am not privy to what goes on in college or NFL practices. I could throw out an opinion on this, but I would probably be wrong

Not really. It was based on a single showing in the spring game where the speed and intensity of the game isn't anything near to what an actual SEC game is like and where there are no blitzing and where the defenses are about as vanilla as it gets.

It also led to all the lobbying for JL to be the starter over JJ and to the false impression that JJ just isn't worth a shite, which was multiplied 10 times by his poor performance in the Vandy game.

...supposedly KW did not hit the holes between tackles hard enough for Porter during practice.

.."Fumbling" or open field running were not problems...
